These games are meaningless. It is crazy NBA players play in them. Sure it is great to build your brand but it you want to win NBA championship it is no place for your players. I loved watching the game don't get me wrong. It is great to watch well played basketball.

Cousins blew his ACL playing a scrimmage. It can happen anywhere since these guys are constantly playing. Might as well be for Team USA which has a good medical staff on hand for something like a simple rolled ankle.

Jaylen not getting back in the game for the entire 2nd half/OT, yikes.

Woulda been more FTAs with NBA refs too

Tatum's Ankle Injury Not Considered Serious
September 3rd, 2019 at 11:36am CST by Luke Adams

https://www.hoopsrumors.com/boston-celtics
Jayson Tatum rolled his left ankle in the final seconds of Team USA’s nail-biter of a win over Turkey today, but the injury – diagnosed as an ankle sprain – doesn’t appear to be serious. The Celtics forward texted head coach Brad Stevens and told him as much about 20 minutes after suffering the injury, tweets Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe.

Tatum later addressed reporters in China, including Joe Vardon of The Athletic and ESPN’s Brian Windhorst (Twitter links), and said he was already feeling better. The 21-year-old was walking under his own power and didn’t have much of a limp, according to reports, which is great news for the Celtics.

It remains to be seen whether Tatum’s World Cup run is over. We should know more by Wednesday, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if USA Basketball plays it safe with the young forward, sending him back stateside to focus on getting healthy for his upcoming season with the Celtics.

Kemba must feel like he’s playing for the Hornets all over again.

Jaylen lowering his trade value each and every FIBA game.

My favorite is the Jazz fan blaming everyone else for being a chucker and ignoring that Mitchell is the biggest chucker in professional basketball.

Well, last season didn’t help either... or did that not matter as well?

Tatum got his team going early, at both ends of the court, he then saved it and later won it, those putting down his game due to his FG% are anti-Tatum.

Should instead be pointing out that Team Stupidity is there.

The coaching, the only explanation is they are trying to lose.

Chucker Mitchell, offensive goal interference. Marcus not Smart, goaltending after the foul call. "Tough Guy" Joe Harris.

K Walker had 7 assists, 0 turnovers so that is a good sign. Smart, Brown, should be traded if Team USA can trade players. Tatum was very good, and reports say the ankle is not bad.

The big lesson, shoot free throws better. Team Gobbler Gobbler missing 4 free throws. Somewhere, maybe OKC, Abdel Nader is cheering.

The referees, crazy people. The NBA might be corrupt, NCAA may be corrupt and incompetent, FIBA referees seem to just be clueless.

It wasn't a foul on Joe Harris, and the real call should have been no call which would have resulted in Turkey passing the ball more and running out the clock.

When they wanted their "unsportsmanlike" foul on M Turner when he tried to block a shot at the basket, on the Osman drive, crazy talk.

Nowhere in the rule book does it say if Chucker Mitchell is not running back to play defense that the referees have to stop the game.

In one of the Team [refuse to play for] Canada games, in the background there was a green jersey with numeral 41. Ugly Bogut and Ingles are running Walton to Bird plays. Scola setting records, the former Pacer and other teams who scored big against Boston, is now the second-highest total points guy in this tournament, which means South America have the top 2 for that. Yi looks like someone who could help an NBA team, but a bit late now. Top players, by stats, so far are Joe Ingles, Salah Mejri, Hamed Haddadi, Ersan Ilyasova and Bogdan Bogdanovic.

You have Serbia shooting 75%, with Boban and Jokic missing 0 shots, looks like they will win it all as a team with Harrison Barnes at center can't win.

I don't think so. I think that Pop is doing pretty good.
Our team is not full of Superstars this year. -- We just have to Grunt it out, with the current personnel.

Probably would have lost by 20 if Kuzma made the team. Thank goodness Pop cut him.

Tatum looks bigger and more explosive in that highlight from the Turkey game. Kemba is just nice with that smooth step back that he looks like he could get any time he wants it.
