Bender is clear cut #3 right now. Might actually put himself higher with workouts. After that, large drop off. Hield and Dunn are already 22ish. Kentucky's Murray' is probably the bedt pick if Celts pick drops to 4 or 5.

I need to get used to start practicing reciting the lottery order backwards. I will be so upset the second it skips out of order.

Nice to be all alone at #3. I was nervous with the squad that the Raptors put out there and the Suns loss to Sacto yesterday. Considering what Philly was doing this year tremendous result

I've gotten so used to rooting for the Suns, I don't know how to stop.

Seen Bender quite a lot this year, he's nowhere near ready to contribute, defense is real bad, not enough focus and intensity and really weak physically. Don't get me wrong, the guy has all the tools, size, shooting stroke, decent athletisicism, ball handling, if you see his highlights you would likely think of a quicker Nowitzki, but from what I've seen from him this year, a much more likely scenario is Andrea Bragniani. Unless he works really hard this summer than he's going to have a very hard time physically on any NBA court and even D-league guys are going to push him around. If Bender ends up 3rd best player from this draft than I'd be very very surprised (Or this draft ends up as one of the worst ever).

So we have two coin flips...with Memphis for #16 or #17 and with Heat, Hawks and Hornets for #21-#24. Best case #16 and #21. Worst case #17 and #24...
Does anyone knows when will it be? Coin flips i mean...

Man, i hate LA. I wish Celtics and another team overtakes them so they lose the pick.
It would be ideal: 1. Celtics, 2. Suns, 3. Wolves, 4. Sixers, 5. Sixers (from Lakers)

I don't follow college bball that much, so this is really just a hunch more than anything, but I'd go with Hield. his shooting is amazing, which the C's really need (Especially in today's league which is all about shooting), he's size is ok for the 2 position (Not great, but not bad either) and from what I've read, his work ethic and intensity are really high while his drawbacks are something that could be handled with the right coach and system.

keep it clean - there's another thread for who to USE the picks on. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1433286&start=380

this thread (and its two forebearers) is just for salivating/prognosticating about where the picks end up. we need to keep it on-topic for the next twenty-four months!

Four years from now, when his rookie deal is up, Bender will be same age Hield is right now. Think about that. Compare Hield with what you think Bender will look after 4 years of development.

It's easy to forget that Bender is 18 year old kid playing against grown men, while Hield is 22 year old senior playing against (mostly) kids. Bender is much better prospect and it's not even close.

Edit: Sorry for off topic, but thought it's important to point this out.

That's what I've been hearing from Euros who actually watch him play. Thon Maker on the other hand plays a lot more physical, has a longer wingspan, and all the athleticism that Bender has. Thon doesn't have to be an offensive star to be an awesome NBA player. Thon has the defense we need next year and long-term down the road.

If Bender's BPA at 3, I think you trade out or down.

Way to bring it home guys!

Yea, fantastic result from the Nets. Before the season started, I wrote anywhere from 3 to 5 and that the BKN will be bottom 5 for sure. Even without a great team, it was extremely hard to outtank the 6ers(nearly impossible 10-11 wins season, isn't this the worst for 82 game season????) and the Lakers, who had Kobe shoot 32% from the field and taking 10 + shots every single game.

This was best case scenario.

Thank you, Phoenix(Ryan, I'm looking at you), we owe you a big 1!!
Good assessment:

Having watched a good amountof college basketball, I have to admit the third best player in thos draft is probably international. Brown has to be way less developed than Bender from a basketball skills standpoint and his ceiling can't be as high. Poeltl looks like the fifth best player in a starting lineup at best. Chriss is a huge stretch in this spot (woild be a good pick in the back of the lottery). Know nothing about Thon except that I have no idea how he is eligible.
