So Cam Whitmore and Reed Shepherd hardly played because coach Ime i wanted to start and pay FVV.. The man who shot 38 and 34 percent last season.. All while being a tiny defender...

And they both could suck. Both can be true

I'm mostly with you here especially regarding PP. But boy that defensive IQ which was a problem for Nesmith as a Celtic reared its ugly head in the Thunder finals against SGA. Nesmith really takes some poor angles that leads to dumb fouls.

Whatever you may say about Nesmith's "defenisve IQ", you can not deny Nesmith turned out Much better than many thought. Both offensively and defensively. And Boston could really use a player like that.

I can imagine that is would be far easier to Grind out a Rehab of an injury like an Achilles If you had a High level partner and Friend with like minded goals. They can both push each other every day. I am now on the Dame to Boston bandwagon since Dame wouldn't cost much for 2 years.

Not saying you are wrong. But SGA was MVP and I think it is much easier said that done.

They can do that without Dame needing to be signed to not play for the C's for a year that's already gonna be hard enough for those who are playing.

Not saying you are wrong. But SGA was MVP and I think it is much easier said that done.

SGA is a tough matchup for most players but perhaps it bothers me greatly had Nesmith played disciplined defense in the closing minutes of that game 4, Pacers would have won a championship. Hard for me to get over that as I was rooting for the underdog Pacers.

To be clear on the above, I don't hold out much hope for either Simons or Kuz long term. So, why not take the cheaper one ($5M less), get a 2nd or two, and free up more time at the guard/wing spot where we DO have long term prospects that we invested 1st round picks in.

If you think Simons is a possible, long term answer, I get that. Then you wouldn't trade for Kuz at that point.

Personally I want to see what Simons can do in Boston. I’m looking forward to having a guy who can get into the teeth of the defense and do both score and pass. The game is so much easier when you have a guard who can win with their first step. And since Stevens and Mazulla want to shoot a trillion threes we need guys who can make them.

There’s definitely appeal to that side of him. It’s just everything else that is scary. Portland fans have shed no tears about him leaving. Just about Jrue’s money, lol. But, If we keep him, I’ll hope like heck he can improve on the rest of his game in our environment. It would definitely be bucking the odds, though.

Sure. I realize there’s potential downside and there’s absolutely a possibility that he doesn’t work out. But the downside is limited, he’s an expiring contract. Considering most people thought we’d be paying picks to move Jrues contract I think Brad did pretty well to get back a young scorer. I’d rather move Niang and or Hauser to save money and would like to at least see Simons play here until the trade deadline.

It makes no sense whatsoever. Dame is washed and never played much defense anyway. It would be Kemba Walker redux.

Yeah, it’s personal preference really. My thing is if you think he’s a long term fit, great. If not, I’d rather move on now, save the money and just as importantly give all that PT to Baylor, Hugo, and even JD rather than develop a guy who’s going to leave.
