Yea, we were the "favorites" and I'm "shocked" that he signed with LAL. Same way I'm "shocked" LMA and Griffin signed with the Nets. I saw a bunch of tweets that LMA had the Heat as his "favorite" and then bang, he's on the Nets.

Good assessment:

LMA to the Nets was the dumbest decision for him unless he's just trying to chase a ring and have 15-20 minutes a night. Not sure how he's going to play with Blake

Don't really care about Gordon and Vuc. Not sure why we wanted to become the Orlando Magic.
Team basketball is all about fit, and doing your job. KG was interior roaming PF defensive anchor. Pierce was the slasher. Ray Allen was the sniper. Rondo and Perkins were defensive oriented players.
People on this board have to understand, you can have five 20 pt scoring guards, and it won't make a difference. There is just 1 ball, and 1 person shoots this ball.
If you put Tatum and Brown on the Magic team last week they're at minimum an ECF team.

Ainge did a decent job at the deadline getting shooting. But We need to hit on Moe or Kornet here down the stretch as the third big man I like both of their shooting, and that balances the roster and gives us more size and shooting. But, we needed Drummond.
Drummond is really interesting GREAT rebounder, good shotblocker, scores on putbacks so he makes his own offense but can;t shoot from distance at all.
RW is a better perimiter defender, better shotblocker not as good a rebounder but more mobile but not as big or strong. If we can thirve with RW not stretching the floor couldn't we have with Drummond as well....now I understand that Drummond would have stunted RW's continued growth but he is a talent, a limited talent but at what he does well few are better he would have been a big help in a series vs the sixers.

I realize it's not the 1990's any more, I'd be looking for an enforcer in the buyout market, if one is available-- a poor man's Marcus Morris who doesn't mind a flagrant or two and has a nasty attitude. The current Celtics roster is all nice guys.
Boogie, anyone?
I want the finesse players on the other teams to think, when our enforcer comes in "O dear, this guy might end my career--and enjoy doing it."

Buyouts often chase rings. BKN and LAL are their best bets. We're .500. We can't complain unless they still avoid us when we are the betting favorite for the East.

Drummond, another "almost" get from Ainge
I like Fournier ofc, but please, no more of these reports. It's so tiring! Besides, Drum to LA just made too much sense. Why the hek would he bother to come here?

Re: It's a Tragedy to see the Deadline's Over Post Trade Thread
Too many times people fans over-react when a player has a bad game or a good one. But between 1 and 2 games and past highlights, college and Pros, I am very intrigued by both Mo and Kornet. I want to see both play this year and would NOT play TT unless completely necessary. Truth is I feel both players are better fit's with today's NBA + what Brad Stevens wants on offense. RW still gets his 25+ minutes and the other 2 can battle it out for the remainder. who ever plays better gets more.
To me short term and long term they are better options than TT. not to mention players and fans may seem them as fan favorites and energize the team more than TT will ever do.

On a talent level yes perhaps, but would you risk it when we already have Ball movement issues. Not that Boogie can't pass, but I think Brad Stevens would go crazy trying to get enough playing time for RW, TT and Boogie. oogie has an Ego and Brad can not handle too many of those.

Vincent Poirier has been waived by the Knicks. Get on the horn, Ainge!

A backup point guard with some height would be great, but there isn’t one. Still have an eye on Ntilikina

We have Smart and Pritchard as backup PGs. No need there.
Start Walker, Fournier, Brown, Tatum, Williams
tristan, Smart PP is the 8-man everygame rotation.
We then bring in Wagner, Grant, Kornet, Carsen, Semi...All of those guys can shoot.

I like him as a player, but he has a low salary, why would the Knicks buy him out?? or did I miss something?

No, I said there isn’t one. Just have an eye on him for the off-season as a project.

Can anyone not go to the lakers for once? Seems like the nba revolves around the lakers. Makes me sick. I will throw up if they win another championship. The aura of this franchise seems gone. Idk. No one wants to play for the celtics.

It’s bs! Like they need to those players to win a championship. This is my problem with the nba these days. Jumping ship. Spare me from a predictable nba finals. The fact that the Brooklyn nets have become more attractive than playing for the celtics is a joke. Maybe the lousy record has something to do with it but i doubt it.

OKC has 3 positions set going forward IMO. M Brown at center. SGA at a swing position. Poku looks talented enough for the 4 man spot. that leaves 17 1st rd picks (2 trillion 2nd Rd pcks) in the next 7 years to finish the roster.
good times coming to OKC.
