Yeah, his prior accomplishments and our record was always gonna get him in. He hasn't been one of the 12 best players in the East this season though

Come on, man.

His shooting numbers are down, but at 23 points per game and the way he's bullying opposing players this season, JB definitely deserves to be an All-Star.

I completely disagree. I think he's been mediocre all season (with a few exceptions). He's reverted back to the tunnel vision of pre-championship, he's having his worst shooting season in years, his defense has slipped, etc.

You do realize that the coaches pick the reserves, right?

Yeah, just don't be a net negative when you're on the floor. Incredibly high bar to clear

Good thing you're not one of the NBA coaches.

Otherwise, JB might not have become an All-star this season.

I'm just happy for JB.

Every time the Celtics have a player or players in the All-Star game, it's always gratifying.

I just remember the days when the Celtics had no All-Star player from 1993 to 2001.

Yeah, this is pretty much indisputable. He has backslid in basically everything this year.

I don't think that's accurate. He's been looking to pass much more (4.8 ass./game, a 35% improvement from last season), while his TOs remained almost the same.

You won't find my name on any JB apologist list ever but let's be fair.

He's still the dumbest player on the court at most times though.

I said basically everything which to me means almost everything. But yes, hat tip on the assists.

I just don't think there's any way he's legitimately an all-star. Good for him or whatever but who gives a **** about the all-star game.

Did anybody notice when the Celtics dominated last year only 2 Celtics made All-Stars while this is the 2nd time in 3 or 4 years that Cleveland got 3 All-Stars lol?

I'm not a fan of the All-Star, but they say All-Stars get more favorable calls from the refs.

I struggled with it for a few years, but he's an All-Star. He can flat out score, and has been better on D and playmaking. Sure he can be inefficient and makes dumb decisions, etc, but a) he can break down a defense with the best of them, b) he rises to the occasion - 3 against Indy, ECF MVP, Finals MVP, and c) there's not many guys you would trade him for (disregarding contract) and improve the team.

I just read Booker of the Suns and Trae of the Hawks were not picked for the All-Star.

Apparently the coaches rewarded players on winning teams because both Trae and Book are having better numbers than JB.
