I am not a Jabari Parker fan, but this statement is ludicrous IMO. Marcus Morris does not play enough defense to justify his shot selection.

And Jabari Parker doesn't play any defense. Period.

So, would you rather have the guy with a poor shot selection who can play some defense and switch or the guy who has no versatility in his offensive game and who doesn't play any defense at all?

I am willing to say that the subset of people who would prefer Marcus Morris over Jabari Parker is a pretty tiny group. Its fine if you're part of it, but no versatility in his offensive game is pretty offbase on Parker. You could argue he is a jack of all trades and a master of none a la Jeff Green, but he can score some inside, midrange, and outside. That sounds like versatility to me.

Anyway, I doubt we can get him, but would be happy to get him in a swap for Morris. Probably a could trade asset on a good contract too, or someone that could step into a bigger role if we got rid of some wings.

Kind of makes sense in my opinion. There is really no reason for Marcus Smart contract to take this long given there is no market for him. I think something else is going on.

Butler and Leonard yes. Parker I highly doubt it. We don't need a high profile reclamation project while losing two key pieces from the playoffs when we're trying to win the title next season.

Agree with your 2nd statement. I think Smart is open to the idea of being moved to a team where he'll be more of a 4th or 5th option than a 7th or 8th option (on the Cs). A one-year huge payday with 2nd and 3rd years as non-guaranteed wouldn't surprise me.

Is there anyway the bulls can match the offer from the kings to lavine? It’s clear they will try hard to win games and not be in the top 13

I'm keeping my eyes on Butler myself. I don't think he sees much potential in Wolves future. Wiggins and Towns seem like one way bums. He's in his prime and would love to compete for a title especially with his good buddy Kyrie. If he gives clear signal that he's not interested in signing with MIN longterm then he might become available. Brown and Tatum would be off the table but we could give a very comparable package to what Wolves gave for Butler.

I believe it was Lavine, Dunn, #7 for Butler, #16

Smart (S&T), Morris, Rozier, Yabusele, Nader + SAC pick

Wolves roster is actually very empty so they could easily make 5 for 1.

Imagine an all-defense lineup with Smart-Butler-Brown-Horford-Baynes :-o

Smart goes to Wolves in this scenario.

C's have been rumored to have interest in Butler before. Wouldn't be surprised to see Danny kick the tires. He's friends with Kyrie AND is part of Mark Wahlbergs entourage (who you just know talks to him about Boston) plus Jaylen just posted a picture of them hanging out together. DONE DEAL

I like Butler, but I think he would come from the bench here with Hayward, Tatum and Brown as wing players. I´d rather use the potential package for Leonard if needed or just stand pat

I'll trade the MEM pick and LAC pick for Butler. Reserve Brown and SAC pick for Davis later.

I like Butler, but my question is, how the hell would we pay both Irving & Butler with Gordon & Al already on max deals? They're both due after this year and probably both want the max or close

These last two days have been so quiet. All the RFAs are screwed with almost no money left. Exum deal was bad for the C's. No way he takes less than him.

I have a feeling Phoenix and Philly are gonna make big win now moves. My guess, Lillard to Phoenix for a package built around Jackson and picks.

Fascinating how the league is re-arranging, and players' reputations.. A crafty, opportunistic team could add Jimmy Butler and Kevin Love and contend immediately..

Towns is the player to get from Minnesota, even if his defense and attitude are major works in progress, and he plays real basketball like it's a video game.

Jabari is interesting.. A 2-3 year deal on 7-10 million per? Done, gamble on him. A good risk. I'd rather be developing him than Yabusele, Yabs is only 9 months younger. Yabu's upside is a big question - how much longer do we want to stick him in a roster space, is he French Draymond Green, can he be an outside/in 3/4 like Marcus Morris or Rodney Rogers? Something better? Or a wash-out?

Justise Winslow, Dragan Bender, Jamychal Green other players who might be had by swapping some of our spare parts, who would balance/consolidate the roster.

Remaining free agents if we wind up with an extra roster spot: Noah Vonleh, Trevor Booker, Jamal Crawford.. Greg Monroe, Kyle O'Quinn..

Unless we are getting Kawhi or obviously AD, I am happy with the way the team is now too. I think that our young guys are going to be that much better next season and if we get what we expect from Gordon and Kyrie we are in for a treat.

100% wrong! He simply never wanted to overpay just like for George. Ainge was very clear, the asking price was too high for both.
