WCJr for Brown? Bulls would demand the Memphis pick and probably thensome. They are super high on him.

I would still be interested. Brown, RWIII & the Memphis pick for WCJ?

He makes a ton of sense to me. I think he can develop into an Al Horford type player. He can play as a center or as a PF with another big as well. He's extremely versatile & would give us a lot more options.

Yeah to be clear I don’t think Brown for Carter is possible - or worth an overpay - I was just listing all of the young centers who match Jaylen salary-wise.

Unless Jaylen has hit his ceiling - and our FO would be in the best position to say so - I’d rather see Hayward go in a two or three-team deal for Myles Turner and something else of value.

If I am giving up brown and the Memphis pick in a deal I want an all star player back....I’m not even high on brown but if I’m losing Memphis and brown I’m not over paying for another player with a lot of potential like WCJ. I want established players coming back

Celtics can go 13-deep with no one playing 30+ mpg in the regular season like the 2014 Champions San Antonio Spurs. It's just uncanny how the number of letters for each of the 2013-14 Spurs rotation players match those of the 2019-20 Celtics rotation players.

Interesting how Jaylen chose Larry Bird's number.

Nobody here hates smart, if that is what you are implying. Smart’s value and importance to the team is truly undeniable. Some, including me, just don’t think he’s that good offensively and playmaking yet, but nobody hates Smart here. I think he can truly make a leap this year and improve on those things, but that remains to be seen for me.

It really seems like there is a lot of good bonding going on. From the rooks, including Tacko, to Enes and Kemba fitting in, the remaining "young core", etc.

Two guys seem decidely less included, particularly given that they reportedly are largely staying and training in Boston this summer:

1) Hayward, who perhaps has lost his older, married with kids buds, and 2) Rob. Rob's fellow rookie last season was pushing 30 and over from Europe, so likely up in the stratosphere relatively in sophistication, and the new rooks seem to have a bit of a more intellectual bent than he does. But still, he went through a first SL with the rooks, but no word of including him in pickup games, appearances, social outings, on social media, etc.

Perhaps also they are less certain to be here next season, with Gordo possibly interested in a trade and Rob possibly going in a deal to bring in a more experienced defensive center?

I'm not too worried about it. I think Hayward is doing exactly what he should - focusing complete effort on rehabbing back to his Utah self. I don't get the feeling he is moody or tough to hang with, but maybe a pinch bit introverted. Given the difficulties last year, I have a hunch the best way for him to ingratiate himself to his teammates is to do everything he can to get back to where he was. I think the issues with him may have been a bit overstated a more the immaturity of others, and, on the plus side, I was close to the bench the Minnesota game with the Gatorade bath, and it was an outpouring of love for him from the third quarter on.

This is just connecting the dots, but Gordon has talked the most about RWIII this offseason, as best I can tell; it would appear this is the case because they likely have spent the most time training in Boston. I'd say this is even more salient for RWIII, so I'm not inclined to worry about this. I think we all have trepidation, understandably so, from last season, but it seems everything is trending in the right direction!
You gotta make it sexy! Hips and nips, otherwise I'm not eating.

Hayward is currently on his China trip. He was unable to connect and bond with any of his teammates the past two seasons for a variety of reasons so he's now laying down the foundation for the next chapter of his basketball life by catering to his fans in the Far East.

Am I doing this right? Hashtag: Offseason Jabs.

Kanter was talking earlier this offseason about playing 2 on 2 with Brown, Hayward and Tacko.

My guess: Hayward has stayed local to Boston to train while the other guys are elsewhere around the country. Hence, less bonding.

However, I’d bet Jayson and Jaylen both have similar feelings to Rozier about Hayward, where they like him personally but recognize him as competition for playing time/growth/role long term. I could see Hayward wanting out too, as I’d imagine he’d want the role the was open to him when he first committed here. I’d strongly wager that Brown, Tatum and Hayward are not all on the team to begin the 2020 season.

I agree re: Gordo maybe wanting a fresh start where he is not resented as the teacher's pet--however unfairly. Just haven't seen any sense of leadership or team building with the new guys, considering that Gordon is the only returning player who has been an AS.
