Bass is the better player; Hawes just has a bit more range on his jump shot, but if that's what Morey wants, then **** him. Ainge ain't gon' be played.

That's one of the smallest concerns I have.. He's only played major minutes in the NBA for one season and he's only 27. To me this is a sort of "foundation" trade. I see this as a trade that helps set Rondo up with a contending team in the next couple years. I fully expect Ainge to rid this team of bad contracts and put us in a position where we have the assets to acquire a big name player when one becomes available.

This will probably get put to the trade thread, BUT I think it's a great deal for us.

All 3 of Atl, Bkn, Bos will make the playoffs if this deal goes through, so I mean we'll still have a pick (whether 17 or 21 doesn't matter that much to me).

I love shedding Lee & Bass's salaries. I know Asik has 1 yr left too at a steep price, but that expiring can be monster to use as an asset. Imagine the looks our guards would get from Asik screens ?! lol

We'll be top 3 defensive team with him.

Sad to see CLee & BBass go though, they were playing well & I like them both.

U can't use this as a monster asset since his contract salary hit is only 8,5 mils, he will get paid 15. So he wont be a monster expiring contract, pretty average...

i don't understand the courtney lee hate. yes he was brutal last year but this year he's been exactly what we expected last year -- solid D, hitting 3's. 7.4 ppg in 17 mins is pretty good, it's just we don't have the mins to give him.

To me it doesn't matter man, Bass and Lee are nice players and I enjoy watching them. Imo, the more Houston drags this, the worse it gets for them, cause teams already know that Asik wants to be traded.

i think his age won't hurt him much because he's more a defensive player and doesn't score much. i see this guy will become Brendon Hayward type of guy when he gets older.

Teams are starting to back away from negotiations. Danny Ainge, in particular, wont be held over a barrel.

I don't see how the Rockets are making themselves and embarrassing spectacle. This is a negotiation, and they are trying to get the best package for Asik. The teams that are starting to back away from negotiations are doing so because they know that the Rockets have a better offer on the table than theirs.

Asik will be traded. To Boston or somewhere else before the end of the day tomorrow and most likely today. They are not hanging on to him. they need to move on for the betterment of their own team

Yeah. This, not to mention the fact that if we do manage to keep Lee, we can flip him in another potential trade. The guy has value and his contract isn't nearly as bad as people here make it out to be.

Decided to make an account after I read through this thread. I think the rumored deal would be great for us.

Bass is a decent defender and has a good mid-range shot, but he's just a role player. I LOVED what I saw from Lee last season during that short stretch when he'd play aggressive, press defense like Bradley, but, for some reason, he stopped doing that. Because of that, he's just an average role player again. We have plenty of first-round picks these next few years. Giving up one pick, especially for a proven player (vs. a rookie that only has experience playing against 19-20 year-olds) isn't too terrible.

Asik's contract sucks, but I doubt he'll demand $15M/year once his contract expires (plus we could always deal him at the deadline to a contender, if we had to). He's obviously a great defender. Not even just in the post. He's actually a great man defender as well, like KG was for us. Great rebounder, and can give us around 10 PPG.

I don't think that he has an ego or any attitude problems. I actually don't blame him for requesting a trade. From what I know, he seemed like a great player, a great teammate, and didn't have a big ego. Instead of using cap space to go out and get more help for him, they decide to replace him with a **** teammate that has a huge ego.

I think we make off like bandits if we pull off the rumored trade.
