#1- Ainge can keep the large Hayward TPE for offseason which is ideal
#2- Celts feel like if he comes here, does well, and likes it that he would be more receptive to taking a reasonable extension.
#3- They like his game and fit with the J's
#4- If they cannot come to agreement with him beyond this year they can work out a S&T
So basically for Boston this is all going to come down to what Atlanta wants back in return and if it's reasonable.
I’m sure interest is real but we don’t have high level picks, they wanna make the playoffs, and I think they’ll get a better deal elsewhere If they move him at all
I think the Hawks are bluffing about their desire for a high pick. I think that they’d probably prefer to get players to win immediately. Ownership wants to make the playoffs. They spent all this money on Gallo, Bogdanovic, Rondo, and Dunn, and they fired Pierce already. Adding a lottery pick in addition to Okongwu, Huerter, Hunter and Young might help in the future, but won’t produce immediate results. Collins is ours if Ainge trades Smart.....which I hope he doesn’t.
