Brad must really have stern salary-dump orderes. This is all the new owners, folks.

Good riddance!

Now you know why past Teams gave up on him
Surprised they got that much for a player who is on the downside…

Head to draft and find his replacement instead of wasting picks on garbage players like Walsh Davidson and every other lame duck swinging **** garbage we have on the end of bench

Any owner would have asked for this. It is t the money. Being over seconds apron also hurts your trade flexibility and various exceptions. You have no flexibility over the second apron.

Niang is a player we don’t like because he is what he is, a bench player and has no upside. He isn’t going to get any better than he is. People hate no upside bench player.

I can’t be the only one who feels like the “basketball penalties” talk is kind of a cop out?

As in: it’s the money, but the CBA built in a way to try to protect the big spender owners from themselves

We don’t have evidence that our new owners are at all in that category

It's unfair to put this on the new owners. This is the new CBA. Wyc and his pops saw the tax bill and decided they'd rather sell the team. They paid for 1 year so they could go out as heros, and the team flamed out.

Maybe Ballmer would foot a huge tax bill after last season, but I doubt Wyc would and I doubt there are any beyond maybe Ballmer.....

To be continued at best. There is a place to discuss the reality of the 2nd apron. But as of right now the beneficiary of this is Bill Chisholm. It can be all of us one day but it isn't now. I personally think Brad will figure this out......if he can with whatever his marching orders are. Right now Queta is our starting center, with Tillman as his backup and a late first rounder as our third string. There is maybe up to a full off-season of a grace period for this trade. The Celtics could have stayed in the second apron to start the season to see how KP would, on an expiring contract. No future money. This trade can still be lost. Let's hope not.

A really nice guy, somewhat good at basketball but too injured to play consistently
Shame he had to go, but at least he has a ring

KP was huge against Dallas, maybe you should’ve tuned in (for a lot of fans, it must’ve hurt watching us actually win)

It was actually less than Niang. Boston also sent out a 2026 2nd rounder and got a 2031 2nd rounder back.

KP has nobody to blame but himself. $30 million is too much for someone that is always moments away from their next injury that will cause them to miss time. Unless it's an injury requiring surgery, he needs to figure out how to play through it. The bizarre virus was the last straw for ownership/management.

I'm about to be 40, and in my run-up to old age one thing I've noticed is that people who mention things like rubbing balls, are generally the best at rubbing balls.

That said, dm's are open
