Yep, he's done for the year.
Even 4 weeks you're talking end of 2nd round, possibly ECF. It's optimistic to assume we even last that long.

Remember we were 12 minutes away from the NBA Finals with a rookie Tatum, 2nd year Brown and Scary Terry.
No Hayward and no Kyrie's whiney ass.

Celtics need one of Langford, Ojeleye, Green or G Williams to really step up. Good Luck Brad Stevens!

We need all of them to step up, basically.

This man, this.
So for Gordon it sounds like the board consensus is that we should just look forward to the next round of offseason “Hayward’s been working out and he looks GREAT” puff pieces. Aaaaahhhghhh each of those has cost us like $12 million.

Yeah, fun run... If only the east was anywhere near as trash as it was that year.

No question. First two rounds of the playoffs take about 2 weeks a piece. 4 weeks from now is Sept 8th. Which means even if the Celtics get past the sixers they will likely have already lost to the raps at that point anyways.
Basically any chance the Celtics had at a deep playoff run ended last night.

Nah, I think you & whoever else should do whatever you wanna do. Enjoy the rest of the playoffs. Continue to believe we can win it all. I think alot of us are just being realistic about our chances now. Doesn't mean we can't still watch and cheer and try to enjoy the rest of the playoffs the best we can and hope for the best. It's just that winning banner 18 is likely not in the cards this year after the hayward injury. That's just a realistic non homer take.
Even before the hayward injury I had us losing to the bucks but I gave us a shot. Now, I have us beating the sixers still and losing to the raptors. All though I still give us a shot against the raps if our guys really step up, I give us zero against the bucks now. Just my thoughts and opinion. Looking forward to watching them hopefully prove me wrong.

I wonder how the torn ligaments in Romeo's wrist will affect him. He has a big opportunity going forward to contribute 5-10 mins off the bench.
The only good thing is that Semi, Grant, and Romeo are all good defensive players. Yeah they struggle offensively but I'd rather take my chances with them making wide open threes than trying to fix defensive issues and having to hide bench players on defense

4 weeks for a sprained ankle? Clearly I’m not a doctor but I’ve played sports my whole life, 1 of them, at the professional level and have sprained my ankles 100’s of times. Not once did it take 4 weeks to recover. If it was his bad ankle, maaaybe I could see that but it’s the other one. This seems a bit excessive IMO.

I did the same exact thing Hayward did where I landed on someone's foot playing basketball and I missed three months. My ankle still hurts now sometimes and that was 15 years ago. I don't think people realize how serious sprains can be.

Any defensive playmaking guards?JHTruth wrote:Welp. Hayward's Boston tenure has been as bad as it gets.
Silver lining, the organization sees the obvious fact that the franchise is now Tatum and Brown, draft a legit PF prospect, and starts developing the team of the future around the Jays. Romeo, the Williams, the draft picks, all need tons of playing time next year. Bigger role for Smart.
Hate to say it, maybe find a trade for Kemba (young PG)

This is fool's hope, imo. It could have been anyone, sure. But it was Hayward. Again. Again, again, and again.themoneyteam2 wrote:The_Ghost_of_JB wrote:Soulcatcher33 wrote:
What happened to Hayward yesterday could have happened to anyone. Hayward's injury problems have been more bad luck than anything else.
At what point does it stop being bad luck and start being that Hayward is injury prone? Celtics have to move on from Hayward being a crucial part of this team.
I mean he just stepped on Embiid’s foot lol. Could have been literally any player on the court
I want him here and think he has 6th man potential of he opts out..but there's no denying he's been injury prone.

It's always bad luck that we have a lot of injuries, the type of players we sign or the training and medical stuff are irrelevant.

Last time I checked, we have not been eliminated from the playoffs yet. So BANNER 18 is still very much alive THIS season. Heal up, Gordo. Semi, Wana, and co. got this!

It's just demoralizing with him. I know people keep saying it's not his fault or anyone's but still can't help but feel upset.
On the positive side I think this just throws us right into situation which was inevitable when Hayward leaves for the baby anyways...I was envisioning us in the middle of the Raptors series tied up or a game 7 and him having to leave....so maybe we'll adapt quicker.

I’m not a big Lucky guy tbh. Was thinking more of a player that could help us, but God help me I keep coming up with Herro, Thybulle and Clarke.
