I assume Theis will be back. Add Langford, Williams and Edwards and you have 13 players. Max Strus and Waters on 2-way deals.

Celtics usually leave 1 spot open so that means one more veteran min. signing is all we can expect. Should be PG or SG, considering the fact that two rookies are unlikely to be ready to contribute from day one. If they do, it's a plus.

When it comes to bigs, maybe Timelord beats Theis for minutes (would be a good thing), maybe Yabu beats GWill (Doubt it), but this is the team. You can argue Brown or Hayward should come of the bench, but I think Smart will start the year as the 6th man.

Walker / vet. min / Edwards
Brown / Smart / Langford
Hayward / Ojeleye /
Tatum / G. Williams / Yabusele
Kanter / Theis / R. Williams

Some of the vet. min candidates: PGs (Larkin, Mack, Neto), SGs (Nwaba, Selden)

Sure...if Kyrie wasn't lying to his face the entire time about his plans. Which he was.

So he's supposed to tell DA that he's planning on leaving? Do you do that at your job? I don't say sh*t to my old job until I have the new offer signed and sealed.

Yeah, it's hard to blame Kyrie for not telling Danny mid-season, but he just should never have said the "I intend on coming back" stuff when he clearly hadn't settled on doing so. He's not very smart, so he probably just didn't think that through. No skin off his nose though, so maybe he did.

Yep. What I meant. Right around the same time. I think we won 10 of 11 games some time before the deadline. Danny was probably hoping the team was trending in the right direction.

I'm just bringing it up because the AS game is probably where they decided to team up. There may even be video of it happening, lol.

Why does he care? He know he's leaving. He knows Danny is counting on him staying for the AD pitch. He can half-ass the rest of the season for another team as well as he did for the Celtics.

And to put it terms of your question: If I knew my employer was counting on me for a big project this summer but I knew I was leaving, you can be DAMN SURE I would let them know one way or another.

ETA: In fact, I did that when I left my last job.

Kyrie showed up and played every game. But he doesn't have to tell him anything. I know my job search is different than NBA, but I'm not telling my current employer that I'm currently interviewing and plan on leaving. I'll let them know when I give my 2 weeks. Isn't that standard practice?

"Months ago" could mean post-ASB/post-deadline.

That whole cell phone video came out after the deadline.

It has worked out fine we didn't do anything crazy with sacrificing assets and you replace Irving with Walker. If we get something in return for Rozier all the better. Though that transaction seems to be on shaky grounds at best.

Yeah, he was probably saying that BS to get people off his back. Understandable. Still blame him for killing our season last year.

Rozier posted the pic in a hornets uniform so I think it’s a done deal.. maybe we get a pick or two out of it.. I’m thinking heavy protections on them

Move Yabusele and get a more useful big. Heck given the Celtics situation Tacko Fall should take Yabusele's spot at the very least.

A fan of the Celtics board called into Abby Chin's podcast with some rather interesting rumors. I'm not sure if anyone has transcribed it.

Could the Warriors S&T Looney to us for Yabusele & the Milwaukee pick?

Yabusele is nothing to them but he will expire soon & they will need some cheap talent to fill their roster for years to come, so a late 1st could help.

I think we found a way to sign Looney to a bit more than the MLE.
Capologists, pls check if this is allowed hehe.:

Meh. These reporters always come out as some smart ass insiders after the fact. Where was he earlier?

Yep, usually gloves come off as soon as player leaves the team. Smear campaign is on. Whether those stories are true or not... *shrug* In any case, **** Kyrie.

Ok, but who would that be? You could add Theis, depending on the money or the team, the BYC issues wouldn’t be insurmountable.. Not a lot of players in Yabu’s salary range..

Definitely a possibility. This team doesn't have the depth that last season's team had, but that turned out to be the problem because 10 guys thought they deserve more. So maybe they don't want to add vets that are marginal upgrades that would block the path for someone like Grant to get minutes. I guess it all depends on how ready the rookies are.

But yeah, Yabu is a character and a meme, we love him.. but doesn't look like an NBA player so moving him could be in the cards.

It's essentially bigs on rookie deals, which will be minimal & any that are worthwhile will be hard to move with Yabu & a late 1st. Would have to be Brown going out or the Memphis pick.

Return to Boston Celtics
