Didn’t see him after he came back.. numbers say he was still scoring ok?

38.3% FG
49.9% TS
44.2% eFG
-6.7 net rating

He was awful. The one thing he is asked to do is score and he couldn't even do that remotely efficiently for the Bulls this past year.

Whaaaa...

I guess they’d hope for his passing and court IQ to help, and Jaren Jackson’s superstar defensive gifts to be able to cover for him..

Globe says Smart is pissed and ready to take his qualifying offer - and that no one is interested in him at more than 9 million a year tops. Do we wait for his agent to provide a number? Offer a couple of different contract options? One year, 10 million, 2 years, 16 million, 3 years, 20 million? Or is this just a pr play where Smart looks like he swallowed his pride to stay in Boston and keeps his reputation higher than whatever he signs for?

Pels will not look to trade him. Their decision to move him will be based on what/where AD's heart is at. Pels sucking will help with that, so we need them to suck really bad lol.

Collison and Beverly are still on the market, right? Is Beverly still on the market?
Good assessment:

PLO wrote:Tatum played OK - took advantage of a few mismatches - decent on the defensive end. He is what we thought he was going into the season - a technically very proficient player operating close to his career ceiling as a rookie.

Signing Zach LaVine to a four-year, $80 million deal is not the way to go about that. That's how you become...well...the Kings.

The guy sucked. He's a chair on defense and he's somewhat a combo scoring guard, who wasn't able to score. Whoever gets him could be sorry.

Neither Beverly or Collison are on the market. Shabazz Napier is, Tyler Ullis, and Shane Larkin could he guys to target if we need to sign a pg for insurance.

Wild stuff. He can’t defend and won’t help you win games, but on the other hand at least he limits your ability to chase max free agents!

This is the part that SA needs to understand. Its over. The time to rebuild is now, like it or not. Thus, their asking for players vs draft picks lr a mix of lesser players and a high draft pick isn’t the proper ask.

I would tear it down and rebuild

With that said, what gives people the idea that the Spurs will be bad next year? Where is that coming from? Who have they lost from last year's team?

Leonard had no impact last year
Parker avg 7 points a game on a 49.8 TS%, he didn't have a positive overall impact.

They won 47 games

I am under the assumption Leonard won't play for them and who know what the return will be. Manu and Gasol are old and Aldridge who will be 33 when the season starts, is getting up there as well. Gay is decent but the rest of the roster is not very impressive. I am not saying they will win 25 games or anything but I see them winning 35 games and missing the playoffs.

This is why the Clippers wouldn't be the worst trade partner for them. You could dump Aldridge and Mills along with Kawhi and just start from scratch. And then maybe see which of those expirings you could flip for other peoples garbage with draft picks attached while you rebuild.

Problem is Popovich only has a couple years left in him of coaching and doesn't want to end on the low note of a terrible tanking team.

Right. He’s crazy. But not crazy enough to overpay Smart. No GM is.

Bulpett just said the team is still willing to pay him in the Exum range, so 10-12 a year. Don't know if you'd qualify that as overpaying, but seems fair to me.

If Jaylen brown went into free agency right now as a 2nd year player I guarantee he would be offered max contracts by multiple teams

I’ll believe it when I see it. But yea.. 10 mil a year seems fair.

Of course. Because of potential. As would a few others from that draft class... Murray, Simmons, and Ingram.
