Yeah, but at least after the trade we may not get our teeth kicked in.
Yeah but we'll have a much improved Crowder, healthy Bradley and Thomas, and better support cast - and Al freakin Horford, compared to the 2015 playoffs. Not that anyone expects us to beat Cleveland but we've been the underdogs ever since... well the 80's.
What? Did you forget the KG years??? Did you forget destroying Cleveland and making Lebron leave?
WadeItOut wrote:OFWGKTA wrote:WadeItOut wrote:Worst case would be the league vetoing a trade. Like they did with Chris Paul. Except here they would have an incredibly easy time justifying doing so.
Except that's not how it works, the Chris Paul trade was vetoed because at the time, the Hornets were collectively owned by all the other owners.
Except that is how it works. The league can stop trades from happening with or without ownership of a team. There was a bunch of talk over whether they would block a Kevin Love trade to the Cavs. The whole **** over the Paul thing was a question of a conflict of interest.
And the league doesn't really care about tampering in regards to early discussions with players who are about to become FAs right before the deadline, but they definitely do in regards to teams meeting in person with someone under contract with another team. Which is why this whole notion of them going to meet him is ridiculous lol. When have we ever heard of a team doing that?
Is this guy a bot programmed to spew nonsense?
The league gives no ****. Move on.
Also, they may not be going to LAC for the reasons we think. We just know they are going there.
Regardless, you are wrong. The league doesn't care.

Re: A lot of Celtics Trash rumors part 3
The league 100% will not stop a trade, unless there is clearly something shady happening.
And I will say that many around the league hope another true super team emerges to challenge GSW. Not that Cleveland cant, but another true one would be helpful.
And most think the best chance, by far, of that happening is in Boston.

Boston going to LA to talk to Westbrook or Griffin is considered shady. It would give them a leg up on other teams that might want to pry him away in 2017 free agency.
It's such an incredibly stupid notion that I can't even imagine how much people in any other NBA community would laugh at it.

We were the underdogs both times, weren't we? I remember 2010 when all EXPERTS predicted us to lose 4-1 to Miami, 4-1 to Cleveland, 4-2 to Orlando and 4-2 to the Lakers. I remember in 2008 people saying "yeah the Celtics, they are good but old, they can't compete with LeBron"
@Wade - but did it ever happen that it was true?

It would only happen if LAC and OKC give them permission to talk to each guy in advance. That is what happened when the Celtics were trading for KG. They had to get permission. It is actually fairly common.

I lived in Boston at the time and no one was saying that around me.
I mean, they did at the beginning of the year but once we got rolling we were favorites along with LA.

I'm sure it's happened many times due to coincidence. Like those people claiming to have inside knowledge because they called the Celtics signing Horford along with most of the Celtics fanbase lol.

There's a thing called "permission" that can be granted.
Do you know much about the business side of basketball? Or is the ball going through the hoop the extent of your knowledge?

You've been nothing but a skeptic since you joined the board. Do you get off on calling people out? That must be it, because you can't possibly have another good reason for it.
If you don't want to believe that some of us know stuff, that is cool. But you don't need to post it over and over and over. We get it man. Either offer something or go away.

Thats already been discussed. Link me to the news that the Clippers or Thunder have granted us permission to talk to him. Because that has to be filed through the league and it's made public.

I believe a lot of people. I've posted several tweets by trusted insiders like the string of Adam tweets last night.
I'm sorry someone is interfering with an ignorance circle jerk in regards to kids lying on Twitter.

No it doesn't. You have no idea how the NBA works. The NBA doesn't even publicly list when guys are renounced or their qualifying offers get pulled, but we all know that happened with Sullinger because it was on the transaction wire.
Your lack of understanding of how things work is almost comical. Almost. But instead it is actually just annoying as can be.
