One factor is that it might actually be better for his trade value to spend the season down there. Not that the D-League means all that much, but, he wouldn't get many (any?) minutes up here, and since we have his rights, any team we trade him to can go ahead and sign him for four years if they like this season or offseason.

How many minutes are they playing him?
Yeah. I'm surprised at the 7pts. Haven't seen that low from him, before. Good amount of Rebounds, though.

Danny's been holding onto him, for a reason. -- We all can see now, that the Kid is good.

I think what they're saying is, that we should have added Nader to the Roster, instead of Green.

Slow down. The guy has terrific tools. He looked good in summer league. Let's see how he does when he makes it to the NBA next year. Patience is the order of the day.

What exactly were the alleged superior options at 16? Henry Ellenson?

Wouldn't be surprised if he was a 2nd stash year as well. A deep web of game theory/cap and roster management questions to reasonably analyze that one would be needed. "A wasted pick" is kind of a blunt way of looking at a really nuanced thing.

The more he plays the better off. It will lessen the rookie wall when he comes to the US

Again, hope you're right. Still, with no trades, are we really going to want to add four more rookies again next year? Assuming you can stash all three of the 2nds, you've still got BRK 1st, Zizic, Yabusele, Nader.

And, to be fair, Nader was never really competing with Bentil and Hunter for roster spots. He was always going to be a stash to start, and Bentil was a super longshot to make the roster, either going to agree to a stash or getting cut. So, Bentil not agreeing to be stashed had no impact on Nader's chance of making the roster.

I'm right behind you two with my optimism for the kid, but I have a suspicion his biggest contribution to this team will be what he helps bring back in trade.


Edit: Whoops, forgot about the 2-way contracts. That should help us manage the continuing rookie inflow. Nader and the Min 2nd are great candidates there. Then you only have to stash the CLE and LAC 2nds, and bring in three rookies right off the bat.

Edit2: A 2nd stash year for Yabu would help as well.

Slim to none. We'd lose a year of his Rookie Contract too, if we did.

Nader was a different situation, Boston didn't sign him to quarenteed cash and we got lucky he decided to go to Maine. Still though I can't get too excited with Nader's d-league stats, I'll reserve judgment until next summer.
