Besides Tatum and Jefferson what other draft picks did he do well ? Jaylen Brown ? Do you realize half of his picks are already out of the league

Well, seeing as how the average career for an NBA player is about 5 years, and seeing as how Danny's been a GM for the past 15 years, then yes, I'd say it's safe to assume that half of his picks would be out of the league already. Unless you're assuming that he's supposed to draft nothing but HOFers who play 15 years.

Look at who Danny has drafted - Rondo. Tony Allen. Avery Bradley. Leon Powe. Big Baby. A bunch of guys taken late who all outperformed their draft position.

Again, you are a troll, and there's a reason why you are on my ignore list. I've schooled you 3 times today, and that's only because I had the time on a slow Friday afternoon. I figure I'd give you 3 chances, but each time, you've moved the goal posts each time. We're done here. Nothing left for me to discuss with you, and I hope others follow suit and hit that ignore button on you.

Same can be said for most GMs who picked more often than not in the second half of the draft.

Looking at picks inside of the top 14 he went with:
Green - traded immediately for Allen
Smart - Still playing, doing very well ( only player picked after Marcus I would pick above him NOW knowing today how things turned out would be Yokic)
Brown - Heavily slumping still a very solid asset (and I still dont think I would pick anyone above him at 3 from his draft)

So he has done very fine in the draft, perfect, nope, but more than fine.

And in trades, he is the best.

Only two players from that Raptors team are still around, Lowry and Valanciunas.

That's kind of the point of my rant.

The core of the team was the same that lost to the Wizards as the past few "only lost to LeBron" teams argument which is stupid beyond measure.

The point of today's Raptors, which is a completely different team is the core is almost completely different. Outside of Lowry.

They went from Lowry, Defrozen, some trash.

To Kawhi, Siakam, Lowry, Green, some trash.

Siakam and Green are more roleplayerish and may fade in like away games in the playoffs, but Kawhi is a true MVP level player and even more importantly is proven in the playoffs at the highest level against the best in the NBA (which is the biggest difference between him and Harden. The other difference is Harden is not a 2 way dominate player like Kawhi).

Brother, you mentioned that you put me on ignore list long time ago - yet somehow, you love replying back hmm...

What I notice with this place is if you disagree, have different opinions etc you are no good. You are a troll. No good. Let’s bully him/her. So I can’t be a Celtics fan, who was rained and born in Boston ? Im not allowed to critique the team? Share my opinion ? And instantly Im a troll.

Now I understand why GB and other team fans cant stand us Celtics fans. Because we are ALWAYS right, never wrong right ?

Do you remember fans wearing paper bags saying fire doc and ainge ?

Im not allowed to say that we are a CRAP team this year so far ? Danny Ainge preaches patience right ? I will see his patience in March. When we fight for the 8th spot the way we are currently playing.

Again, everyone should be able to share different point of views and not be constantly bullied or right away assume HEY ITS A TROLL.

My guy relax. You take this to personal. Its just Sports man.

I will admit that it is paying off so far. If the raps fail to win a title and leonard bolts next year though......That's another story. Let's see what happens.

It's way too early to say that it paid off. Let's see what they do in the playoffs and if he stays long term or not.

Anyway, that's the type of risk the Raptors had to take in the position they were in. If it doesn't work they go into rebuild mode a year ealier than they would if they returned the "old" team. Not that big of a deal.

For us it simply didn't make sense to take that type of risk without assurances of Kawhi staying long term. It's as simple as that. We have a young, talented team that can be great. If it doesn't work we have the assets to go after a superstar player.

The Spurs need to tank. They're on the treadmill currently. Aldridge and DeRozan aren't taking you anywhere in the West. They were stupid to take an offer for Kawhi that didn't involve younger talent or draft picks. DeRozan doesn't get them anywhere close to competing in the West playoffs.

They need to focus on getting a young core around Murray. They continue to collect old cast aways like Gasol, Gay, Belinelli, etc. They never compete for major free agents. They're never bad enough to get elite prospects. What's the plan long term?

Is Pop even expected to stick around much longer? I can't see him starting/sticking around through a rebuild, but he's not turning the Spurs into a contender again. They'll just continue running on the treadmill as long as he's there unless they hit the jackpot on another mid first round pick like they did with Kawhi.

Feels like it's time for him to move on with whatever is next and someone else to come in and kick off a rebuild of sorts.

The West is absolutely bonkers this year; the 8th seed in the East qould be the 2nd worst team in the West atm :o

Watching teams like Bucks, 76ers and Toronto kills me. All 3 have REAL mvp caliber players and what the hell do we have ?

Bucks and SIxers drafted their superstars. Toronto trade for Kawhi, but there is a good chance that he leaves after this season. He also said that he didnt have any interest in coming to Boston. It would have been a big risk for the Cs to trade Brown and some of our best picks for Kawhi. It wasnt a big risk for Toronto, because they werent going anywhere with DeRosan, even if Kawhi leaves after this year, it was worth it for them, just for getting rid of Derosan's contract.

denmuscles wrote:We can FORGET about finals or ECF until we get a true top 5 mvp type of player. And YES I’d trade Irving/Tatum/Jaylen and whoever else they want for AD. Give me a guy that can put up 40 on any given night. If we don’t land AD if he becomes available, and Brown/Tatum turn out to be nothing SPECIAL then Ainge should be relieved of his duties. As of now Brown is a BUST period. And Tatum thinks he is Kobe. I will give Irving credit but he is not the leader. He cant carry a team
On his back constantly. He can say whatever he wants but LeBron was his dad in Cleveland.

First of all we already reached the ECF for 2 consecutive years , second of all yes its good to have a top 5 player , but they dont grow out in trees. And had we traded for Kawhi or Butler, we wouldnt have the assets to go for Davis , if he becomes available in the near future. Btw Butler is definately not a top 5 player, he's 29 with injury history amd locker room problems and he's gonna demand a full max this summer.
You already decided that Brown is a bust after 20 games in this season? Did u forget about last season and last playoffs? I dont think Brown is going to be a star, but he can develop to an elite role player.
Tatum doesnt think he's Kobe, on the contrary he's humble. He plays good defence, he 's extremely talented offensively and he's only 20! No reason to think he cant be a 25 ppg efficient scorer with good defence in the future, something that will make him a top 10 or at least a top 15 player. Again, havent you watched last year playoffs? Tatum also has been good this season too so far.

Lol, Lebron was his dad? How about 2016 nba finals? How about them last 3 games? Would Cle have won without him?
Also nice choice of words there. No wonder most people here think you re a troll.

Let me **** tell u - Emanuel **** Mudiay scored the last 15 or so points of the game for the Knicks in Q4 & OT, and led the Knicks to an incredible comeback VS the Greek freak. What a **** ending!

Felt like **** losing to the Mavs and the Knicks, but both teams are beating some pretty good teams. Still not an excuse to lose to them, but it is somewhat of a consolation that neither team is total trash

Mudiay is actually looking decent, his shot is getting wetter.

Doncic blocked Lebron twice last night.

Jaren Jackson Jr had 36 points last night, and not just from three-point bombing - would’ve been incredible to have the LA pick convey last year - imagine this roster with one of Ayton/Doncic/Bagley/Jaren instead of the SAC pick..

Lowry's back issues worth keeping an eye on.

This blows a hole in the conventional theory that Euro's cannot play defense. Doncic may not have the hops but he is definitely up there in basketball smarts. The game slows down for him...
