He had to deal Brown. That's the only way to get either good enough talent to compete or get bad enough to tank.

I get what you are saying but I think the way forward is with Brown and Tatum and likely Fournier. I think specifically with Brown and Tatum they continue to get better. Ainge has to figure out the Kemba, Smart, TT, Rob, Pritchard, Nesmith stuff. It is more about finding the correct role players than adding elite talent, although I think Ainge will certainly be aggressive trying to add another significant piece and would not hesitate to trade anyone outside of Tatum. The line between winning and losing sometimes is not as wide as it appears.

Give me a break. Boston had racial issues In The 1960s with busing.

NYC was sued under Bloomberg fir stop abd frisk and had Eric garner killed for a loosie.

And Boston got a problem?

Boston no more or less racist than any other city. Go down into the depth south and see racism.

It isn’t happening in Boston. Lord. Give me a break. City has changed is much from the 1960s it isn’t even close.

Boston is as a progressive a city as there is in the United States. Always has been.

Gotta hand it to Kyrie for turning our fans against each other. That's some effective pot stirring.
We need a 3 point guy that puts fear into our opponents like Harris or Robinson does to us.

Is it in bad form to hope the Nesmith gets extra reckless around Kyrie in game three?

I feel like that was the narrative if we missed the playoffs. That 'opportunity' is now lost.

Getting stomped by the Nets (who might well go on to win the title, or at least represent the East in the finals) is unfortunately going to generate nothing but some shrugs, and management saying "if we're just HEALTHY next season, then we're not going to be the 7th seed, then we've got a chance, and keep in mind Fournier will have the chance to go through training camp with us, and Tristan Thompson too, he started last year with a bad hammy so never got a chance from the jump to get integrated with what we try to do, and Grant Williams will have another season of professional experience under his belt ... season tickets on sale now banner 18!"

They certainly could play that card but I think the regular season struggle, even with injuries and COVID, left a sour taste in their mouth. And I have said before I do not believe ownership or Ainge had championship expectations this season, it was all about resetting around the Tatum and Brown timeline. I do think they expected better results though and the issue of pieces that fit became very obvious, more so than they are comfortable with moving forward.

I said it before the series, the Celtics need to get physical like the old fashioned Detroit Bad Boys.... Toronto would have given these guys a more physical game and that's what needs to change! Our Allstar and Head Coach are both soft as heck and we see zero passion..... Pierce would never let Durant lay on him after a play or get bullied by Cryie. Show some damn emotion boys..... this squad needs a leader!

Pierce spent most of his 20s being on losing teams and his passion and leadership didn't translate to wins until two HoFers joined him.

My takeaways from all this:

--I love Fournier. I really hope he gets signed for next year.

--Sucks not to have Brown out there.

--Tatum is a great player, but this team is improvising way too much, and he's not being properly utilized.

--I can't understand why Brad doesn't give more playing time to some of our more capable bench players. He had Parker sitting there doing nothing at the end of the season, when he should have been playing 20 minutes a game to be ready for the playoffs.

--Brad needs to take more timeouts when the wheels are coming off. We can all see it happening from home.

--The Nets are incredibly stacked, every bit as much as the Celtics were in '08.

--Kyrie should STFU and stop bringing stuff that has nothing to do with basketball into the game. He always has to be the center of attention, but he was only the Nets' fourth best player last night.

It's a shame that we let Kyrie tear this board apart with his Red Herring Racism. He clearly knows what he's in for and his pathetic way to shield himself is to feebly infer that any acrimony towards him or the Nets should be viewed as "racist". I'm hoping those in attendance on Friday and Sunday aren't neutered by his bizarre and erroneous allusions. Regarding the game, I am the most wild eyed, foaming at the mouth Celtic's fan around. Yet I enter this series blissful and serene comforted by the sense of low expectations. If they win, the feeling will be unbelievable!! But games like last night left me calm and observant which made my wife happy because I wasn't throwing clickers, punching walls and swearing so much that she has to shut the windows
Couple of observations: We need more fighters in the vain of Smartacus, TT and Fournhub. If we're going to go down, go down swinging. And I was under the impression that Nesmith was the best three point shooter in college last year. Really?? Let's hope home court fixes his stroke because we need his energy out there but he has to hit open 3's otherwise the Nets will just continue to harass JT. Keep the peace, stay strong and stay together

I thought the same way until I saw the "performance" last night. Every single player tapped out after the tipoff. They're done. If there was a way to forfeit the next two games the majority of this roster would. Just a bunch of jobbers on this roster. Think of this Celtics team as Iron Mike Sharpe or the Brooklyn Brawler and the Nets as the Ultimate Warrior. However instead of a 1 minute job its 3 hours of hell. Please blow this cesspool of a team up and take management with them.

Easy I'm only 31 and I call it a clicker. What's the alternative? Remote control? That sounds so clunky.
