Nesmith has a lot to prove. He has to prove he has more value than the #23 pick given away just to get rid of Kanter salary. He showed us flashes but overall less than second round picks have showed in past. I believe he will…. But it’s a fallacy to say he has nothing to prove.

PP wants to show he can be the leader and star of this group.

Not in my eyes. Plus SL often only provides glimpses ..It proves nothing.

+I remember how bad Trae Young looked in his SL and thought he would end up being a low efficient chucker with no defense. Now it's just "no defense"

I don't think it's a fallacy to say Nesmith has nothing to prove in this summer league (though the way he works I fully expect him to play like he does). He has tons to prove in the regular season, every player in summer league does, but I think he showed enough last season that he'll probably look great along with PP early and then maybe they'll take a back seat so more assessment can be done on some of the other players.

100% opinion and speculation on my part of course, I'm not running to Vegas with that take or anything.

I think everyone moves more herky jerky since there is far less set plays and positions.

WHO will be first to post a lineup with Yam or Juhann, or both, as starters, potentially for *this* season?

Spoiler:
If either makes a good play, it may be me.

Wish they could have found a way to get rid of him before SL, not after.

How else are fans supposed to keep in griping shape for next year's season?

Romeo will likely be the youngest player on the team yet again this year and this is his first healthy offseason in adulthood. He's got time.

Romeo has shown no growth in 2 seasons and is barely an NBA player. He really can't afford to have a bad third season.

How many NBA guards become good despite showing so little early on? Tony Allen was a college product and older, but even his "slow start" was far more productive than Romeo's. For every Kent Bazemore, there's a hundred RJ Hunters.

Terry Rozier and Avery Bradley are 2 that come to mind.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I consider Romeo in a different camp than those two. AB was a little injury prone but he had his summers to work hard and get better. Romeo, has not had that until now in his NBA career but he also has a terrible attitude. I’m strongly in the camp that Romeo is going to be a guy liek Gerald Green where he reeeeealllly has to fall to realize he has to work.

But they were way better than Romeo. They did have redshirt-type rookie years, yes. Bradley in his 2nd year was playing 20 MPG, and had earned a place in the rotation down the stretch. Rozier had carved out a rotation spot as well, 17 MPG all season. Meanwhile, Romeo is still at the Gino time stage he was in year 1.
