Celtics get Barnes to got with the Jays and get a free look at RW3 and Bagley III together before they have to make a decision on him in the summer.

PS: I'm trying everything to get Barnes to Boston.

Grant/Nesmith/1st is too much.

Won't get Barnes for less. Celtics fans overrating Celtics players once again.

Obviously Kemba fell off a cliff and Rozier has turned into a pretty nice player but to say it was the wrong move at the time just isn't the reality. Don't get me started on Morris, everyone hated his game and he was a ISO chucker (I still do)

Irving and Hayward leaving for nothing is a major miss though, 100% agree there

Bottom line is they should have more to show than Richardson and a $17m TPE, which may bring back another Richardson equivalent.
Stevens was left a mess.

Another decent Bagley night. But still just the player he was at the start playing with more focus.. makings of a nice midrange game (really nice in the near midrange, hook, floater), does ok (a little slow catching and gathering) in the dunker, great athleticism helps his rim finishing and rebounding. Limited awareness slowly creeping up, at least. But he can only go left, they don't use him in any pick and roll or pick and pop, which tells you he's not as good at them as he should be. And his touch comes and goes, when it's off he misses *wide*, which isn't encouraging for his ability to lock in the shot. And someone's going to overpay him on hype - maybe Detroit. Little bit of a Jabari in Chicago vibe, high pick whose ceiling plummets on a second team with too-high expectations. Still want him here if we cleared out other salary.

Bagley would be such a nice change of pace backup Center and would gladly ship Horford and Romeo for Buddy and Bagley.

Horford and Moses Brown to Kings

Tristan Thompson and Dennis SChroder to Dallas

Bagley, Burke and Ramsay to Boston?

Can't see much of a market for Horford. It seems the Kemba for Horford trade was mostly made to save ownership from the luxury tax.

In order to get Barnes, Steven has to get creative and move Smart to a 3rd team, and that team sends assets back to SAC.

Sacto might want Horford because he is a good player, leadership, off load money and low commitment with 1.5 years left but who knows. Kings have to make a decision on Bagley over the summer. Getting Horford allows them to punt for a year.

Lonzo Ball might need surgery, which keeps him out for 4-6 weeks. Maybe Chicago would have some interest in Smart?

This is admittedly a crazy desperation move, but the C's aren't going anywhere and I think this could make sense for them on some levels. I don't even know the parameters, but if you could keep Tatum and Brown would you try to trade for Westbrook? Westbrook has a fire under him that the Jays don't seem to exude - he's a point that could help them get to their spots and take over when the C's start to roll over. The Jays could make up for his defensive liabilities. It's obviously not a future move, but his deal won't last forever and I'm sure Stevens could get him cheap? Please slaughter me now for this suggestion.

Am pretty sure SAC would be adding money for next year, unless they waive Big Al.

This is why some fans get bent out of shape when the Celtics do no deals. Some think Celtics can get a player like Barnes for Horford, Schroder, Fernando and a 2nd round pick.

You have to give up something to get something. Now if you don't like the player that is a different story.

Stevens likes our guys.

On the subject of Westbrook, he has such a fire under him that he was benched for the entire 4th quarter against Indiana for playing matador defense.

This kills any summer plans, if they have any.

Regardless of how I feel about Westbrook. You're maybe the 3rd person to suggest this. Desperation is indeed growing.

It's a bitch when all you can do is rearrange the deck chairs.

If we traded for Westbrook, I'm not sure I'd watch another Celtics game until he's gone.

I would rather have Phil Pressey than Russell Westbrook at $47 million

Trade board talking Al, Smart, Schroeder or JRich for Russ, maybe THT, pick and swap.. Westbrook’s 47 million next year is brutal but it’s expiring, and not far from what we’d be paying even if we decline Al’s option. We already have a point guard who can’t shoot for sh*t, Russ is more talented. As a compromise move we could do a lot worse. Couple other moves - maybe THT to a third team, whichever of Josh or Dennis we don’t include gets dealt.. Smart/Al for Russ, Nunn to a third team..

The idea of helping the Lakers out of their bind while taking on the root of their problem makes me sick.

Can we talk about something/someone else?

Return to Boston Celtics
