He won't pass up the opportunity to play for Latvia in the World Cup (in Japan I think). It's their first time qualifying.
I'm already crying.

Don’t hate it. He plays this year and next year then you have a massive expiring in two summers if he disappoints.

From Horford to Hayward to Kemba to Brogdon to Porzingis, players don't really want to come to Boston. (Danny Ainge with the assist!)

Shouldn't but he does. 18% career usage with the Cs. Last season (19.8%) it's mostly in garbage time I imagine where he has the ball playing alongside deep bench guys. Should've had an asterisk there 'cos he'd be 9th or 10th man in the rotation but will remain on the floor in blowouts.

Can't leave him alone outside the arc. Have to double him inside the paint. That will be useful for our offense.
Need his teammates to cut to open spaces. KP can find them.

Nice compilation.
As I and many other said during the MIA games, you need a passer on the free throw line and you break the zone.
In the above video it is either Porzingis or Deni on the free throw and the zone just breaks. Porzingis shooting the midrange and attacking the basket also help a lot.

If we can 26-28 from Jaylen I’ll be ecstatic

Porzi had a .627 TS% on 27.4% usage last year, which was actually 3rd on the Wiz last year behind Beal and Kuzma. Should the C"s really trim that to give more usage to all those other, less efficient, players?
To be fair, I think Joe will do just that to keep the Jays, who want to hog all the usage they can for themselves, happy.

Wiz was pretty much a 3-man team and Beal missed a chunk of games. Cs got more talent behind the Jays. White and Brogs had TS in the 60s too. But I wouldn’t mind if KP is in the high 20s and Brogs/White both in high teens. I do expect Brogdon to remain in the 20s if he’s now the lead ballhandler off the bench. But I hope Brown’s usage goes down now that we have a legit 3rd option.

100%. Very underrated that Boston was able to land White/Brogdon/KO for the trades they did because those guys wanted to come here.

Brown's the guy who should really have lower usage, but if they keep his inflated ego I presume they'll keep his inflated usage % too.
Pritchard got his relatively high usage from taking half the shots when he was out there in garbage time. I'd focus on giving him playing time in exchange from playing more as a pure PG this year.

Re: Welcome to Boston, Kristaps Porzingis!
He’s no great passer (tiiiiiiiers below Jokic) but all I hope for are willing passers, which he is. He can see over everyone so he can see where his teammates are at all times. And he can draw a second defender when he’s inside. That forces defensive rotations and gives us some openings (cutting lanes, open shooters). Wish that assist:turnover ratio could go up playing with more talented teammates. He’s worst among our three centers if last season was the basis (Horford with 5.11!).
