I don’t really get why they didn’t just rest him like 3-4 games in a row.

Playing on a dodgy ankle and not letting it heal properly doesn’t seem like the smart long term move.

This is it exactly. His philosophy needs to be adjusted for the personnel on his team.

He could let one of the assistants draw it up if he doesn't have any plays of his own lol.

You’re seriously going to imply an NBA coach doesn’t have coaches he can draw up?

My goodness I can accept being critical of Mazzulla but if you seriously think the head coach of the Boston **** Celtics, one of the biggest basketball teams in the world doesn’t know how to draw up plays I’d love to know what you’ve been smoking

It was a joke. The hint was the lol.

Easily the biggest problem with this team right now. Such a far cry from when Brad would run ATO plays with a bunch of scrubs and still execute about 20x better than this squad. I mean if this dude can't get this team to execute WTF is the point of him?

Playoffs are all about late game execution. Look at the nuggets vs lakers series in the conference finals, lakers made it close late every game but Nuggets made big time plays late.

We aren’t gonna blow every team out come playoff time. So the Celtics still need to improve in this area but the coach isn’t doing the players any favors late

I gotta believe. Even against an organized defense, Mazulla could have called a set play that would have gotten a better shot than what Brown ended up taking.

But, to critique Brown for that shot, That he was fouled on, is lunacy. It wasn’t a great shot, but that was becuase he didn’t create a better look.

I think they could have had a great look if Brown didn’t have such bad tunnel vision on that possession.

There were 3 guys on him and White was wide open at the top of the key.

I'm sure med staff has advised him to. He was supposed to miss the last two. Guy hates missing games. They need to tie him in a basement somewhere.

It’s annoying as.

That ankle injury happened like two weeks ago?

With proper rest he’d be completely fine by now.

If it’s still bothering him because he refuses to rest, that reflects terribly on the medical staff.

Exactly. This team has an insane amount of talent/experience. We shouldn't be executing worse than the 2014 Celtics

Can Joe protest the ending if the league admits the replay was incorrect? It's not protesting because of a missed call (which can't happen) but for an incorrect replay review. On grounds it was overturned when not enough evidence for an overturn existed.

Nothing will happen & we’ll continue to see incompetence by the refs.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Joe calling a timeout in that situation & giving it to KP in the paint.

I hate peoples that think Iike that.

Celtics were down 5 and rallied in final minutes, which is epitome of clutch play.

Whatever happened before then is irrelevant.

If they hit those free throws. That doesn’t mean they win the game. It just means fame plays itself out differently in the end.

Celtics 5-5 in those JB games and 22-5 in those JT games.

Brad came into the league as an elite coach from day one.

And people still complained about him on here.

People will bash the coach no matter what.

I'd have to question anyone's intelligence if they questioned Brad's competence as a coach. Dude was easily the best coach we had in my era (1990-present).

He copped plenty in those last few seasons for a supposed lack of man management skills.

In hindsight it’s hilarious because clearly there were a few players around with massive egos who had a bad impact.

We hit one more free throw and they're intentionally fouling us to end this game, not us trying to take a tie breaking shot. One more made free throw can make a difference.

Read on Twitter

Refs got this wrong all the way. JB's head hit Buddy's arm. Clearly an offensive foul.

I’m in between on this thinking. Yes you’re right the game plays out differently with free throws being made. I also don’t believe the game was lost because of one (badly) blown call. Giving up 44 points in the 3rd is what stands out to me the most

about the foul on Brown that they wrongfully overturned. I would have preffered a no-call to what happened. if it was a no call, another second or two comes off the clock before they call a timeout. combined with the foul to give. instead they kill the play with over 3 seconds left and pacers advance the ball. calling the foul then overturning it was a worse scenario than if they just didn't call it at all.

If Boston is in a close game, with a minute or 2 to Go, in the playoffs, There is NO WAY People on here can say they trust Joe. If they do, they are flat out lying to us or themselves.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Personally I don’t. Celtics are elite at everything and are the best team in the league but this part of the game I still have questions and never feel confident.

Return to Boston Celtics
