Cs out of timeouts in regulation and OT?

I thought he did a great job in the 4th.

Joes surrounded by an Allstar cast, they will not let this opportunity slip. If you look at the sidelines, several coaches are animated throughout the games. Def a strong group on our bench this year!

Let's take this moment to remember that our new all-star assistants weren't doing so hot last season.
Charles Lee - lost in the 1st round
Sam Cassell - 2nd round exit to the Celtics
I don't know why people want to push the narrative of Cassell and Lee, particularly Cassell, being the one who's really coaching this team to succeed. All Cassell did before this season was be a part of Doc Rivers' failures.

There's a ton of investment in the idea that not only has Bubblegum Joe not won a title, that he is totally incompetent and/or unacceptable. Tough to reconcile that with his results so there's a lot of conceptual framework built around the idea of him.

We'll never be able to fully unpack contributions at the coaching level save for the rare 'Clifford Ray worked with big man X on Y" story that drips out.

Charles Lee lost in the 1st round? Him personally? He, on his own lost that series to Miami?

Cassell lost the series to the celtics? That series was the celtics 12 players + 7 coaches vs Cassell all by himself? It was all Cassell's fault that the sixers didn't advance?

You're kidding, right?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

I guess you're carrying your "negative spin on everything" shtick over from the trade thread to this one

You are missing the point but it's not that important.

With a few minutes left in regulation the GB game thread was all about how Tatum sucks and the Wolves were finally going to get the respect they deserve after winning this game.

Legler on ESPN last night said Edwards reminds him of where Tatum was 3 years ago. A ton of talent but still trying to figure out how to handle late game situations and everything the defense throws at him.

My bad. There were back to back Indiana games.

It would be more accurate to state that in 3 of the last 5 games Pritchard has been a non-factor (OKC, Indiana, Wolves).

Not encouraging that he will be able to deliver in the 2nd Round, ECF and Finals should he run into teams playing in your face defense for 48 minutes, especially Phili, Miami, Clippers, Wolves, OKC, Denver, maybe even Milwaukee.

He's a great offensive player, but he's a really bad defender who happens to play a critical defensive position. That really limits his value.

To be fair, so was the game thread here. Embarrassing behavior from people who just won’t acknowledge they were reactionary and wrong.

Your other point, this is what I said after the wolves beat the Celtics in Minny, while everyone was overreacting.

Not his biggest fan, but Scal’s call during the end of the game when Tatum going nuclear was amazing. Calling for the blow kiss to the crowd before Tatum did it was perfect timing.

I still find it remarkable that the Celtics shot 30 for 31 as a team from the free throw line (Brown 13-13, Tatum 13-14) and the only miss was a DWhite offensive rebound that lead to a Jrue Holiday 3 ball.

Brown is a 72.5% career free throw shooter. The odds of him making 13 consecutive FT's are about 1.5% (.725^13 x 100).

I believe 13 made free throws is now Brown's career high.

I was at the game! A few observations:

- Joe Mazulla called timeouts after the Wolves made a few runs. It nice to see him be proactive about this.
- Jaden McDaniels is a great defender. When he fouled out that left the combo of Ant/Towns to guard Tatum/Brown. Ant is a good defender, but Towns couldn't guard Tatum. We had control of the game after that.
- Payton Prichard is awesome. He does some little things really well. A few times he took the ball in transition and drove hard to the basket. It made the defense collapse and he was able to pass out of the drive to open shooters and cutters. He looks aggressive and confident.
- Naz Reid had a really nice game and made consistent shots and 3ps. At one stretch the Wolves were on fire and it was annoying.
- Tatum was really open for the final shot of regulation. I thought it was a good look.
- Hauser should never bring the ball up the court. The one time he did he made a wild pass and almost turned it over.
- Tatum is so so good. He made so many winding drives through traffic and basically just goes around helpless defenders. His body control is top notch and it shows. My favorite play of the game was when Tatum bodied Towns in the paint and moved him back for an open layup.
- The refs called too many fouls, but I don't think one team benefitted more than the other. Towns should have fouled out in OT, instead they called the foul on Reid.

The refs boned us again! Three missed calls/non-calls.

This should now count as two wins.

Not wrong.

Plenty of people here more focussed on anti-coach or anti-player agendas to enjoy a tough win against a very, very good team.

If they stay healthy, the wolves are legit. Having Reid, NAW and Anderson coming off the bench is impressive. Tough team.
