Giannis would be the perfect big/superstar next to JT for this team for their second window, I wonder if Brad will try go after him

we've drifted from not-quite-possible-ways-to-get-Giannis options
Constable, drop us some of the good stuff?

Giannis
Tatum
Derrick
Pritchard or Hauser

that's about all you need, two years from now
don't be distracted by trying to be the 5th seed instead of the 8th seed next year, it doesn't matter

I agree and, from an outsider's perspective, I think the trade value of Jrue and KP are being seriously overestimated on here...but we'll see I guess.

They are both fantastic players but Jrue's age vs contract is not a small thing and KCP is a unicorn with glass legs. They are certainly more than good enough to roll with, but given BOS's financial situation (now compounded by what looks like a serious injury to Tatum), White might be the really attractive trade asset. Even Brown, who is a beast on both ends, isn't really a tremendous trade target with that deal...I'm not saying these guys are negative values or not great players - but clearing payroll might not be as easy as "who can we live without". Also, Hauser just got a well-deserved raise to a modest $10m, but that might be his parting gift as BOS slides Scheiermann in (or the next undiscovered gem) to his slot for 20% of the salary.

I think White would be as good a fit in ORL's backcourt as any player in the league.
ORL sends: KCP, Wendell Carter, #25 and ORL 26 frp
BOS sends: Derrick White, Sam Hauser

ORL 26 frp with swap rights for second best of PHX/WAS...this pick is a key factor for a major upside "Auerbach heist". That pick will almost certainly be a lottery pick and, possibly, a really good one with Durant outgoing and WAS being WAS. KCP can do enough of what Jrue did this year and is probably a better defender now. He's not much of a playmaker, but my assumption is that Jrue and Pritchard can do more of that with White leaving. Wendell Carter is a solid, versatile young player that can play 4/5 and allow BOS to thin their depth - maybe it's Horford hanging them up or maybe, if Tatum is going to miss a lot of time, BOS even tries to move off of KP's money before he expires (if Tatum is out, BOS is not contending - so they might as well restructure as much as they can in the interim). Significant financial benefit and, possibly - if things click, higher long-tem upside with WCJ and 2 frps.

I'd do that but not adding picks...doesn't save BOS much money unless follow-ups do it. Isaac is coming back strong next year...if you haven't followed it, he and management decided to bulk him up with 30 extra lbs of muscle last summer to get him more time at C and protect him from injury ( ). In his exit interview, Isaac was very transparent about it being a mistake, feeling sluggish, and not like himself, etc...and vowed to lose the weight and get back to his previous speed and agility...a healthy mobile Isaac is insanely disruptive from perimeter to rim, even if on a minutes restriction...he has now had 2 healthy years in a row, so maybe he's going to shed the restriction one of these days. His salary also drops to $15m per.

keep Jrue and make it White and Hauser and ORL adds signicant picks.

Gotta say I initially thought this was crazy, but thinking more, it's pretty decent value. If we could rework it to 16 instead of 25 and add BKN:

ORL: White, Hauser, 28 for WCJ, KCP, #16, ORL 26 FRP
BOS: Cam Johnson, WCJ, 16 for White, Hauser, 28
BKN: KCP for Cam Johnson, ORL 26 1st

The upside on that first is probably a little too high for the CAM/KCP swap. I'd love to dump KP too, but pretty sure BKN isn't gonna do that, lol. So, maybe they send 36 to BOS as well?

How'd you respond without even considering the picks?

or, the situation BOS ownership has acknowledged they are facing financially

or the fact that (awful) a ruptured Achilles tendon probably takes BOS out of contention next year (but not out of any payroll commitments)

It sucks...I went to Boston U. Still a Celts fan but...it is what it is and Stevens will have some hard decisions to face...I think he's the best and he'll find the way, but there WILL be changes. Pritchard and Jrue can pick up a lot of the heavy lifting that White has been doing.

Trade Brown and Hauser to Utah for Markkanen and Kessler +21st pick saves us 9 million as well. Utah can not use anymore young players. Ainge catching heat for tanking.

Trade Brown for Zion straight up. Saves us 10 million.

Trade Brown to SAS for 2nd pick?? Fillers may be required.

Would the Pacers trade Nembhard and Mathurin for him you think?

I think they would, but I wouldn't want to trade round to a rival like the pacers.

If there's a team JB will be welcomed it's Houston. I can see that move.

#10 and the 27' 1st from PHX would be ideal as far as picks go

He should. Here's the challenge. Spurs are in the driver's seat to land Giannis now that they've secured the #2 pick. Not to mention Houston, BK, and other teams will be calling the Bucks to try to get something done.
If Brad wants Giannis, he will need to be willing to move Jaylen Brown and pretty much all of his draft picks to orchestrate a deal. The second challenge is would the Bucks even want Brown? He's a lesser version of Giannis. Now, they don't have their own picks so bottoming out isn't really an option. However, the Celtics with Giannis essentially means all of their picks would be late first rounders. Also, not too attractive to the Bucks.

If I'm Milwaukee, I'd prefer a package starting with #2, Vassell, Barnes, and additional picks. But I'm also not going to discount Brad's ability to build a winner. He's been incredible in this role since taking over for Ainge. Speaking of Ainge, would Utah be interested in Brown? Could Brad and Ainge come together to get JB to Utah, Giannis to Boston?

Jrue/White/Hauser/Giannis/Horford/Kornet could most likely keep the Celtics in the Top 4 in the East while they anticipate Tatum's return later in the season.

Amen Thompson is probably the only untouchable on the Rockets roster. Only way he's dealt is for Giannis IMO

If and when they start shedding salary teams will come a knocking for that 26' 1st rd pick.

I personally wouldn't move it. If they struggle and end up with a potential lottery pick that could be a good building block to pair with JT.

I feel like that's him talking up his value - whether he keeps him or not. But Green is kinda roughly thought of as neutral / negative on his deal.
