The rumor that the Celtics are looking to trade up to target a point guard makes me think Jase Richardson is the apple of Brad Stevens eye. (Just a guess, he fits the Celtics style) In order to get him the Celtics would have to get in the 14-17 range in my opinion. Does Hauser and the #28 pick get you there? What else would the Celtics have to add? Protected 2027 pick? It's interesting.

Coincidentally Brad is looking to move two injury prone guys in Porzingis and Holiday just like he did back when it was Smart and Williams.
The issue is, when you moved on from Smart and Robert Williams, you upgraded. This time, you're probably looking at a major downgrade. With Jayson Tatum dealing with a significant injury and Jaylen Brown just coming off surgery, it's hard to believe that whoever you bring in — or any internal improvement — will come close to replacing what Jrue Holiday and KP bring to the table.
Holiday was hurt in the Orlando series and we didn't need him to finish them off but he had different nagging injuries throughout this last NBA season. Porzingis has been injured the last two seasons in the playoffs. Replacing them with healthier bodies available during crucial playoff runs is already a win. There have been several key players in the playoffs this season who have been hurt and a disproportionate number is on the older side.

Wolf reminds me of Kevin McHale, great footwork and smarts, good shooter. Combine numbers were strong, 6’10 ½ barefoot, 251 lbs with a 7’2 ¼" wingspan and 9’1” standing reach. Perfect fit for our style. We will need a guard if Jrue is gone, but we'll have Pritchard and White so we're in pretty good shape.
Reminds me more of a little quicker Kelly O.

Between this season at Michigan st and his last season of HS ball, from what I saw Jase played around 5% of his mins at PG.
He's much more of a 2-guard imo...shades of Beal, McCollum, Norman Powell..

What I am not understanding is Brad has always been so stealth, and while other teams may acknowledge that Boston/Brad may be trying to trade up. How can anyone know they want to trade up for a PG?
And trading up for a 6'1 guard would make me sick. Even if he is CJ McCollum clone. That is a defensive disaster waiting to happen.
There is no prize for coming so close Do something!

Brad Stevens on fans who want the Celtics to tank: "I don’t think they’ll like me all that much then."

Plus, he's really not a PG, he's a small 2, imo. Personally, I don't want a 2 that measured 6'0.5 in socks.

That kid won me over a couple of years ago when he was at Lake Highlands and he almost took down Duncanville. Would love to see him on the team

Jase is fools gold and will be a bust.
Way too small.

Really makes sense to trade the #2 pick if you already have Fox and Castle.
The Spurs and Wemby are ready to take the next step and that's by adding a star quality vet.

It's not really the point, Jase is my guess. The point is if the Celtics want to move up to #15 is Hauser and #28 enough?

It makes sense if you don't want Harper to trade down to a team that does and move down to #4 or #5 and get more assets. Wemby is 21 years old and you have a unique opportunity to add a quality young guy to Wemby and Castle and have them grow together. Spurs will probably never sniff a Top 10 pick again for the next decade. I don't see the Spurs trading the #2 pick for any vet.

We'll see.
They traded for Fox, so that's a hint they want to take the next step.
A Fox extension will be proof of that.

Fox could be traded this off-season if they don't want to give him an extension. The Spurs never rush anything

Take 742. Gets below 2nd apron, but not tax.
Net in/out
------------
In: Rui, T Mann, J Carter, 45
Out: Jrue, KP, Hauser, Tillman, 32
Lineup
---------
Pritchard, White, Brown, Rui, Kornet
Carter, Scheierman, Mann, Walsh, Queta
JD, 28, tbd
* Tatum
That's 13 with Kornet at $6M, $5.8M left to sign 14.
If it's Horford, adjust with Luke. Or vet min, 45, 2-way call-up, etc. Or keep Tillman above.
Good starting 5 to top 7. Plenty of time for young guys to grow in the 8-13 spots. Probably play-in territory team, so the 2026 pick will be good.
If you really wanna duck the tax, Rui and Mann should be moveable for cheaper guys.

Shams Charania knows something or just speculating?

If OKC loses to the Pacers, Stevens needs to engender a Trade War between OKC and the Spurs for either Brown or White. Play those two off of each other as they both seek dominance within their divisions. I know White is a personal favorite among many, but if one of those clubs offers three Firsts and a good young player for him, I want to wish him well on his new team...
