Just earlier today, I did. Someone tweeted the possible tax implications. That's why I'm interested to know what "the other shoe to drop" is and why we had to do the Philly trade this early. What's the plan? 'Cos Bulpett among others have hinted on a trade for a vet. And all season, we've been conditioned to expect a huge FA signing.

Can you pls repost them? Want to see.

There was no actual math/exact figures. Will post later. On mobile. Just imagine paying all of IT, George, Hayward, Horford post-cap jump. Insane tax bill.

I don't have the time to find out if that is really what Mannix said, but if he did, it would be the equivalent of every single guy saying Kate Upton, or your lady de jour, is their main focus. I call it clickbait and lazy journalism.

The Rondo Show wrote:If we want George, the very likely scenario is that we agree in principle, but don't execute the trade until after FA. That way we don't need to match dollar for dollar salary. George is at 19.3 and we can't take back more than 125% in this deal so you are looking at needing to send out 14.475 mill. Bradley is at 8.27 mill and Crowder at $6.29M so that would work I believe. Throw in a mediocre pick or two (MIN 2nd and our '18 1st?).

I don't think the 125% cap would apply, actually. But it hardly matters, since I think there's a $5 million cap as well.

What if New Orleans was talking to Ainge about what they want and how they want it thus the end of Fultz?

My thoughts would be that your idea stinks worse than your user name.

It's a quote taken very out of context

Maybe re-sign Kelly O or bring in some other cheap guys to fill it out. If that's the plan I can get on that.

Thats not possible financially. We need to have about 15 mil in salary going out to acquire George after signing a Max FA. This is already assuming we have waived every FA or PO including Kelly Olynyk.

Yeah I would believe that a deal for Davis was possible until they traded for Cousins. I guess the only way now is to hope they suck and maybe by the deadline you got yourself a chance..but I assume you'll have to wait until next year..and what do you know..we might have TWO top 5 picks to offer them in the summer..shocking.
WHAT THEY GON’ SAY NOW? ‎ THANK YOU TRUTH!

Celts17Pride wrote:I know you guys probably discussed this but I get a funny feeling Porzingis/Anthony/8th pick could be a target.

I have felt this ever since Celtics brought back DSJ for another workout. We all know Ainge is after someone but when you eliminate the usual suspects like Butler/George/Davis there really doesn't seem to be a lot out there.

We all know Knicks could use draft picks. Just speculation but I wouldn't be surprised if some trade of Porzingis to Boston, Melo to 3rd team and a boatload of picks and young players were being discussed.

Just a thought.
.
Can see them dealing the 3rd pick for Porzingis.

Yes but his quote was 100% out of context. He said Boston wants AD but so does everyone else and that NO isn't trading him (yet)

Zeller (1 year only) + Crowder (Value) + Mickey or Jackson (Rookie deals). Done. The pick is their prize.

We have to renounce our rights to Zeller and Mickey to be able to afford the max FA to begin with though.

Okay, this way, there's no risk for Boston even if PG leaves for the Lakers. I like it lol.

That would be awesomeness.

We have to waive Zeller and Mickey to create cap room to first sign a FA. Not possible.

Why would the Knicks do that? Dealing their best asset and a true stud for a PG-13 rental and a pick?????
