After five games, Teague is somehow shooting 28% from the field overall, including 60% from 3. How TF is that even possible?

Current ASG selection rules: 12 positions total. Fans vote in 5 starters. 2 backcourt and 3 frontcourt. 7 reserves voted in by coaches. 2 backcourt, 3 frontcourt, 2 at-large. There is no distinction between Forwards and Centers, and no official quota for the latter.

That means there has to be 4 backcourt players, and can be no more than 6. Have to be 6 frontcourt players, and can be no more than 8.

If they keep those rules this year, there will be no injury replacements as there is no actual game. Names below represent viable candidates, with top candidates in bold. Two of the bolded names above would not get in.

Pick two.

BACKCOURT
Trae
Kyrie
Westbrook
Lowry
JRue
LaVine

Beal
Dipo
Barrett
Rozier
Brogdon
Sexton

FRONTCOURT
Durant
Giannis
Tatum
Simmons
Butler
Embiid
Bam
Jaylen

Siakam
Hayward
Middleton
Warren
Collins
Vucevic
Sabonis

I don't think its by any means a guarantee that Westbrook makes it, the Wizards are 0-4 and if they are bottom feeders Westbrook probably misses the team. Beal didn't make it last year for pretty much that reason. I also don't think Lowry is guaranteed to make it, could easily see him slip out although if the Raptors are anywhere near as good as we thought before the season it probably means 1 of Lowry or Siakam make it. Lavine quite honestly I don't think has much of a chance unless the bulls are a playoff team. Jrue isn't a lock either, although I think either him or Middleton will make it. So that's 4 that I think are questionable, although in two cases they would likely be replaced by a teammate.

Also my guess is someone on that list will get injured pre all star game, obviously you don't want to see that but it historically does happen. And if you misses 4 weeks and 15 out of 36 games before the break you probably arent making it outright.

Alot of it depends on playoff seeding, if the Celtics are a top 4 seed for example i don't see anyway they don't get two. Thats how it worked last year anyway. Meanwhile if a team like TOR slides they will lose a spot over last year, if the WIZ suck they may not get any.

On the other hand, Sabonis should probably have been bolded.

Anyhow, thanks for the list, OccasionallyIncorrectCaveman!

His floaters are a washout. :)

Season to date he's 6-10 on 3s and 5-29 on 2s. Also 10-12 on FTs.

That makes him a kind of reverse Theis, who's 12-18 on 2s but only 2-13 on 3s. Theis has also hit 2/3 of his whopping 3 FTs.

Meanwhile, Timelord leads the team by far on eFG% and TS%. Those numbers are identical at 88.2 ... which makes sense because he hasn't attempted a FT yet this season.

Can someone remind me what the Celtics current cap/tax situation is? Especially as it affects the maximum amount of the large TPE that can be used this season.

Thanks.

Can't believe how good John Wall looks. Still one of the fastest guys in the league coming off almost two full years without playing.

Hayward and Rozier look pretty awesome together. Can't believe we couldn't make it work with both guys.

Question..knowing what we know today, do you pick Kemba at 34, 36 and 37 million or Rozier at 19 and 18?

More like Stevens can’t make it work.

But we can only use the full amount next season once we are no longer hard capped.

They're 2-4. He's going through a hot stretch shooting the 3 really well and he is currently averaging better numbers than Kemba from last year. Still he was awful for us in his last year so yah retrospectively you can make safer arguments. It's still early in the season and you should take into account how Kemba was plagued by that knee last year.

Looking back Kemba was and most likely is still the better option. Rozier was treating his teammates as standing cones at some point. Kemba is more of an enabler.

We can use the full TPE in-season as long as we don't exceed the hard cap.

Ex. Acquire a player making $28.6M but send out salary worth 7M+ in the deal or prior to the trade.
