Al Horford and Amir Johnson both voted Teammate of the Year on their respective teams.

Image

Some former Celtics voted Teammate of the Year in the West: Bass, KG, Tony Allen, Barbosa, and Jameer Nelson of course

Interesting bit in this Gerald Green article. They make the suggestion that Green may have struggled last year in Miami compared to the 2 years prior in Phoenix due to the slow pace in Miami.

Hopefully that is the case and getting back to a fast paced system brings him back towards his Phoenix years' level of production.

A greenlight for Smart and Green off the bench is going to mean a metric butt-ton of 3s. Gerald almost hit 10 attempts per 36 in Phoenix.

In a way he can be what ET was by absorbing 6th man level offensive responsibility - it'll just be by cranking up shots en masse as opposed to playmaking.

Read on Twitter
Like I said on the other thread, top 3 defense is a virtual on-paper lock, based on personnel, continuity, coaching/system. Now if we can pair that with a top 7 offense...

Wasn't sure where to put this but it should get high traffic. Excellent write up on where the Celtics are and what the future holds. Educate people.

Agree the threes will go way up this year.

Last year, guys #4-7 in minutes played (Et, Sully, Amir, Smart) just couldn't shoot from deep at all. Replacing ET with Green, Sully with Horford and KO bumping Amir in minutes should do wonders for this team's shooting.

Green being more Phoenix and less Miami would be pretty huge for them IMO. A high volume bench shooter/scorer would be great.

my take on green has two elements:

1.If he doesnt put in the work, Brad isn't going to play him, simple. He's a bench warmer that steps up incase of injury.

2.I think he will put in the work, because you REALLY don't want to be that guy sitting next to guys like young on the bench.
I don't believe in statistics. There are too many factors that can't be measured. You can't measure a ballplayer's heart. -Red Auerbach

Marcus Smart is an underrated shooter
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Somebody's going to complain about how a vet like Green will block RJ Hunter from being a superstar.

I like RJ. So I will likely complain about how a vet like Green is blocking RJ from developing into a better player than Green.

Unless of course Green is playing amazing.

Pound for pound the best to ever play the game! Thank you @theofficialai3 for everything you've done for the game a basketball. There will never be another Allen Iverson but I'm for damn sure going to be the closest thing to you LOL. Thank you for inviting me to your Gala and allowing me to speak at it. Appreciate all the long talks we've had, they have changed the way I approach the game! #RealRecognizeReal #TheAnswer @joipearsonphoto

Looking forward to IT having some long talks with Gilbert Arenas on locker room decorum and warm-up routines, followed by a summer intensive "Dealing Gently with Authority Figures (DGAF)" seminar with Rondo, followed by D-Will's Prolong Your Prime workout series.
