I'm guessing they mean cuts to the hoop when they say "cuts."

So, Jaylen's got something to "shoot for" (SGA # of cut/FGA) and so does Timelord (AG 158 cut/FGA) --- and Tatum/Porzingis passing it to them.

If Rob can shoot, away from the basket, that would be Golden.

Him starting next to Porzingis and then JT, if they zone this thing up it will be like an eclipse at the rim.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Read the whole thread. I had no idea Rob's advanced defensive metrics were so good. Elite across multiple categories.

That and his offensive rebounding numbers are two aspects of a few that, for me, makes him starting a wrap.

FYI. the mention of Hartenstein in this group further bugs me they didn't appear to put strong focus on trying to add him. I know he got a slightly higher contract than the MLE the C's had could match, but, I would have liked to have read they were trying.

How effective is Hartenstein defending guards? Is that the gameplan or do teams hunt him in the pick and roll?

This is the only thing I got to further that conversation. I don't put monetary resources into subscribing to advanced data sites, at this time.

If Rob could play more than 40 games that would be Golden.

By the advanced stats he was one of the better defensive bigs in his last season with the Clippers too if I recall correctly. That was part of the reason I and others were advocating signing him.

My guess is if he wasn't effective, Thibs wouldn't keep him on the floor and guard the perimeter.
Given the company he keeps, I don't think that list represents bigs who get hunted in the pick and roll. And in any case, a pull up three over a big is like a 33% shot for all but the best shooters.

Knicks bigs made the Celtics’ bigs look like Kareem Abdul Jabaar. No wonder Mitchell Robinson was pissed, he scored less often than Rob Williams who actively loathes shooting anything other than maybe a lob.

It's mindboggling that Mitchell Robinson gets 4.5 offensive rebounds a game and only 4.7 FGA per game.
