In this small set of Israeli numbers it indicated Omicron infected 76% of triple vaccinated people had omicron, while only 24% of unvaccinated people. If it overtakes delta (spreading at the rate we're hearing, could be likely), doesn't affect the unvaccinated as much as previous strains, and vaccines still prevent only a miniscule number of deaths by it, this may be what we need (omicron to overtake delta) to get out of this pandemic.

1. You stated the bolded completely & dangerously incorrectly. 76% of the 89 Omicron cases were apparently triple vaccinated VS 24% not triple vaccinated.
2. A sample size of 89 posted on Twitter means less than nothing. There will be peer reviewed publications of thousands of Omicron cases very soon. Let’s see what they report.
3. Vaccines have prevented & will continue to prevent countless deaths.
3. Drawing any meaningful conclusions now is extremely premature & absurd.

This is certainly anxiety inducing. Unfortunately, I can understand the recklessness that comes with the comfort of believing that one may be okay, on an individual level. Unfortunately, such an attitude is harmful to the country.

I've held off on the booster, just a bit, out of concern for it triggering a Guillian Barre Syndrome relapse, and had planned to speak to my Dr. First. But now, I probably don't plan to wait, and will get boostered, ASAP, as I understand the risk of a GBS relapse is minimal.

I do know it refers to spread within the body, bronchial tissue only, with at least an implication that the same doesn't seem true for lungs. But I don't know the reliability of those summaries nor, if they are reliable, what the implications are for disease severity and/or spread.

Not important for your ‘non-medical but very smart average citizen’ = you.
All that u need to understand is that it ties into why O is so much more massively transmissible and/or more easily passes to the lungs.
What matters is where the rubber meets the road in large real world studies - as in the UK study published last night - with ominous results. See my last post last night.
During the next couple of weeks, there will be multiple other more detailed studies of large populations published.
