Re: Jaylen Brown Thread
If OKC doesn't win it all, I would expect an all-out blitz for Giannis with Chet and much of their vast Draft assets plus fillers. That would make most sense for both teams.
There is no prize for coming so close Do something!

I'm sure Milwaukee is licking their chops for $50+ million Jaylen Brown (a lesser player than Giannis) and a few draft picks in the 28-30 range. That should turn things around in Milwaukee.

Man, you ain’t a Celtics fan. Stay in your lane. We are not trading Jaylen brown for Gianni’s. Celtics chemistry is cemented. I like Gianni’s too but no. Giannis needs to hit Rockets or Grizzlies
Oh I’m not? Thanks for letting me know

Re: Jaylen Brown Thread
Shams from ESPN reported Cs will definitely make a move for tax reasons.
Since it's looking like it's inevitable, I'm now on board with trading JB for Giannis.
On one condition, keep KP and also trade Jrue.
Swapping JB for Giannis does not solve the tax issue.
Jrue makes the most sense because of age and the remaining years of his contract.
JB and Jrue out and Giannis going in means you get another 1st tier superstar and you somewhat solve the tax problem.

Re: Jaylen Brown Thread
Jaylen Brown in game 5 showed the NBA, Celtics fans and the world what a team with him as the star looks like. In game 6 he has a chance to significantly add to his legacy. Obviously, this Knicks team took multiple knockout punches from the champions at full strength and still overcame 3 double digit deficits late to take a commanding 3-1 lead. Without Tatum the odds are stacked against Celtics as the Knicks clearly have the edge in talent now. Still, I wouldn’t bet against Brown like so many haters did …… and conveniently disappeared last year (Comedian, MagicBagley, BFB etc. to name a few)
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

After being super depressed from Tatum’s injury… Jaylen (and the rest of the team)’s performance in game 5 really lifted my spirits. I’m excited for the rest of the postseason. Let’s see what the squad sans Tatum can do. I’m also excited to see what Jaylen will do as the number 1 option next year and what Payton can do in an expanded role.

I never wanted to see it but here it is. I agree tha PP might have a Brunson lite emergence next year. Maybe we finally see what we have been hoping from Walsh.

I've been one of Jaylen's biggest defenders against the likes of Caveman and others over the years, and I wouldn't hesitate to trade him + assets for Giannis. It's hard for me to conceive anyone being against such a move. What the hell is the rationale? You put Tatum and Giannis at either the 3/4 or 4/5 and nobody is going to be able to match up with that.
Both are huge, great defenders in help and on-ball, great rim protectors, rebounders, playmakers, etc. All they would need is shooting and halfway decent defense around them and they'd be contenders every year.
Put them out there with Pritchard, White and Kornet and I'd like that starting 5.

Hats off to the guy for the sacrifice. Injuries completely derailed the Celtics' season and only now are we beginning to understand just how much.

JB with the torn meniscus, JT with the wrist and then achilles, Jrue with the hammy, Hauser with the back and ankle, KP with the illness.
It's probably not hard to figure out why the team looked a step slow and didn't win this year.

Re: Jaylen Brown Thread
So our three top scorers from 2024's team as well as SH at #7 were all injured or sick and who knows about JH.
I have a lot of experience with different respiratory ailments and there's no way KP could have been effective with whatever variant he had BTW. Can't breathe efficiently, lack of stamina, and brain fog are common to all of them and basketball especially requires good lungs.
I'd move him, if I could, but suspect JH is more likely to go.

And yet 90% of people here blame Mazzulla for the team playing worse than last year. I wonder if they also blame Kerr for the Warriors losing the 2019 finals.

Porzingis gave it away a couple of weeks ago when he said he was giving JB advice because he had a similar injury.
Porzingis tore his meniscus in the 2020 playoffs but seems to have waited until October to have surgery. He was out until late January 2021.
Meniscus surgery recovery time is 3-6 months.

Re: Jaylen Brown Thread
Let's have some perspective first. Even with a fully healthy JB we don't beat the Knicks and certainly not OKC, Minny or whoever else comes out the West. Heck, we probably weren't getting past the Pacers in the ECF.
Joe's system sucks and the Celtics injury woes does not mean that Joe can be excused from his incompetency.
Also, Giannis can definitely be available if he demands a trade out. The Bucks may not like it but it happens as we saw with AD and other superstars demanding a exit out.
JB is who he is so you either have to be okay with that and believe that what he is is enough to win another championship with or you go after an upgrade. Giannis is that upgrade. all day everyday and twice on Sundays.
