Interesting - I thought he was supposed to be kind of a shooter

Yeah, I was off on that - https://www.nba.com/article/2019/05/03/texas-big-man-jaxson-hayes-potential-overload - he only took one jumpshot all season (??) - but he's above 80 percent on his free throw shooting, which means he could become a shooter.

Guess there's nothing wrong with having two athletic shot blocking prospects.. Hayes is going to struggle as a rebounder, though - like Cauley-Stein.

Hmmmm, very interesting. Celtics are liking thier shooters these days, having another one, Dylan Windler in for a second workout.

Do prefer upside at 14 with someone like Bol but the injuries seriously worry me.

I say go after shooting with Herro and Cam then add defense with Thybulle. No reason to draft one of those many ho hum bigs when we got Williams who's better than all of them.

Davis is shorter, doesn't have the same above the rim finishing ability, rebounds better. Hayes looks - physically - a lot like JaVale McGee - who's a rim protector, dunker, never a strong rebounder. But the younger the player, the more you wonder if they can add to their game.

Limited handle, limited length, limited athleticism - lights-out shooter.

Interesting - if Nickel doesn't have a great first step, lift, or agility, but he does have endurance, that could be a point in his favor.

I want NAW. Just a solid role player, IMO. Thats a home run in this draft.

Honestly I agree that R. W. 3 is a better prospect than all the other bigs in this draft. He is longer and more athletic. Bol Bol is the only guy who might be better. If I was DA, I would get Bol Bol in and get his medical situation investigated.

it's obviously people are just learning about him now or watched maybe a single game. He shot a whopping 35.5% from three. He may one day be "lights out" but he hasn't shown that yet. I wish people would stop defending his lack of length and athleticism by bringing up JJ Redick and how similar he supposedly is because his shooting somehow makes up for it. It doesn't. He's not that type of shooter. JJ shot 40% for his college career. Now THAT is worth having on the floor despite being a defensive liability.

The "someone in the know" could have been Herro's agent. It's lying season. And shooting percentages while standing in the same spot with someone feeding you basketballs is very different than shooting in a game.

Want to be a good free throw shooter? Sprint from one free throw line to the other. take two shots, sprint to the other one, take two shots, back and forth. Keep it up for 50 shots. When you can shoot 80% in that drill, you are a decent free throw shooter.

Could see us gambling on Porter, but the guards I like in our range are Nickel Walker and Talen Horton-Tucker, who looks like a poor man's Evan Turner on offense, but only 18, and has the frame to be a very good and versatile defender.

Hachimura is the forward I like in our range, more than Nas Little and Sekou.. PJ Washington and Grant Williams are interesting after that - even Louis King - or Darius Bazley as a gamble at 51.

And really like Fernando and Kabengele as bigs, maybe Jontay Porter at 22 or 51..

What is Herro like defensively? Does he at least try to stay in front of his man unlike Rozier?

IMO Herro is a better prospect than Reddick. Reddick certainly showed more in college, BUT he was a four year player.

As a freshman, Herro is showing a more diverse game and at least as solid a stroke from 3.

He lacks quickness in general, and he doesn't have the strength or length for most NBA 2 guards so I'm not really sure who he can defend. He reminds me of RJ Hunter.
