Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
Very unlikely because the C's will be resting guys during these last two weeks, but not impossible that the Cavs crap the bed for the #1 seed.
The Kings are in 10th place, KD missing a week and Christie wanting to stay HC could be enough for the Kings to have motivation.
Indy 2X and NY 2X. Indy has the Pistons on their tail and NY has Indy on their tail.
The C's remaining schedule has a 16 game winning streak and hottest team going into the post-season all over it.

Joe is so, so good. Winning 60 this year would be an insane accomplishment considering how much they’ve rested guys, and KP/Jaylen/others missing a fair amount of games.

If this was so easy, some other Celtics team from its almost 80-year history would've done it. The closest one was the 5-0 road trip of the 1973 team IINM.

I do believe that if you're playing good D overall, more bad 3s will go up, lowering %s
But also keep in mind that average includes the **** damn **** Dillon Brooks game

Players, coaches, and defensive strategies have changed in those two decades. Wyc and Pags may be the only constants. Let's see if we can still defend the 3 with this new ownership.

I hope Chisolm can move his feet like Pags and fight over the high screen like Wyc.

Serious answer: Celtics almost always play defense. Through-lines of KG --> Crowder(?) (wince) --> Horford as bigs, Pierce --> the Jays at wing, and Rondo/Bradley --> Smart --> Derrick/Jrue at guard is pretty legit
Better answer: as long as we have Lucky and especially LIL PHUNK I think we'll be okay

If and when Celtics beat Okc for the title that Horford deal is going to look even more crazy than it does right now.

Per DIck Lipe, the Celtics have lost as many home games this season (24-13) as the previous two seasons combined (69-13). Wild.

I think they knew he was good. They sat him to tank for Giddey and trade the Sengun pick to HOU.

How bad is our home record vs the league? Okc and Cavs obviously excluded. 13 is bad for us, because as you said it’s unusual, but how bad is it really?

It's still good. I think it's 4th in the East and 7th in the league. We were just elite in home games first two Mazzulla seasons. No idea what's different this season.

Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
The Celtics are undefeated (31-0) when limiting opponents below 52.0% effective FG%. Just 25-20 otherwise. They're 32-2 when limiting opponents to below 110.0 offensive rating (The Thunder by comparison are 47-1). Just 24-18 otherwise.

Re: Celtics 2024-25, Season Thread
In the Celtics' 20 losses, they only made 1.4 more threes per game than their opponent. Just a 4.2 point advantage per game.
In the Celtics' 56 wins, they made 6.25 more threes per game than their opponent. That's an 18.75 point advantage per game.
Against the Cavs, the Cs made at least 17 threes in every game but lost the games where Cavs matched their 3-pt makes. What's scary about the Thunder, the Celtics lost the games where they made just 9 threes but also the game where they made 20. Celtics rarely lose when they make 20+ threes.

Worth nothing that our defense at home is just far worse than on the road.
We rank 2nd on defense on the road and only 15th at home. (This is 5th and 4th respectively last season.)
