Simons is a subpar defender but has the athleticism to at least be average if he cares enough. These are the type of reclamation projects we need to trade for. Good offensive players who have the physicals skills to play defense but has shown it yet.

The 14th pick in ‘24 (we got for Marcus)
A 2029 1st
Rob Will
Brogdon

For what’s now basically Simons, 2 seconds and that championship. Paid off decently.

It’s so hard to win a chip, if we had to give seconds to get off jrue it would have still been fine. When you can win it all, take it and run!

Good thing Brad is the POBO, we came out solidly and have a chip!

Curious about the seconds. Anything this year?

I like it. Simons can shoot. PP and Simons combo might struggle defensively but for basically a salary dump I'll take it.

Simmons is no defender but it’s not like we locked up in the playoffs anyway. Could have used someone like Simmons to get a couple buckets.

** Portland doesn't have a 2nd rder this draft. But I hope Brad can use that and trade up and get another 1st Rder.

PS with all the speculation, No one thought of this one.. BRAD > Everyone here
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Does Stevens have a propensity to trade with the same teams or what?

Not really.

He loves to be dramatic.

It would be Porzingis and Hauser as ‘key’ players they’re trying to actively move and then they’re probably listening to calls on Brown and White in the slight chance that they get a crazy haul for either.

Id assume Celts want to keep Simons for the long run. But for right now, he's an expiring. If they can't find any other trades with KP/Sam, they could always keep these 2 PDX seconds and just try to trade Simons down (maybe acquiring assets along the way) for players on expirings of lesser amount until they can't trade down further and then stretch or add seconds and dump... but probably im thinking Brad wants Simons long term.

Any word on what seconds we are acquiring?

What makes people so convinced we’re just going to extend Simons?

I personally don’t think he’s that much of a winning player and think Brad might just value him being money that comes off the books.

Maybe I am an idiot and don't understand basketball or the NBA but why would Portland do this?
Edit: Extend Mazzulla
