I don't think Joe and Brad have any desire to pay big money to a center who doesn't shoot 3's. Not saying I agree or disagree with that approach but management clearly wants to shoot 3's at an extremely high volume.

Wow.. Didn't see that coming. I guess now we won't have any trade for Kessler rumors.
2 things need to go.. my lack of spell check and Joe..

Agreed.

Since Brad took over these are the bigs that we've had who didn't shoot 3's:

Queta - gave him a 2-way, then converted him on min deal, then extended on dirt cheap contract
Time Lord - Brad signed him to 4 yr extension at like $13 mil a season..that's the absolute most Brad has paid a non-shooting big. And that is Rob, a freak athlete, all defense caliber player, who already had 3 yrs experience playing here..was established as a stud in our system. And he was only here for 1 year with Joe as coach..then we traded him
Tillman - dirt cheap contract..he kind of shoots 3's though
Garza - dirt cheap contract..he kind of shoots 3's though
Kornet - Vet min deal. Then when he was due for a big pay day, we didn't pay him
Amari - 2nd round pick, gave him a 2-way contract
Blake Griffin - dirt cheap contract..he kind of shot 3's though
Noah Vonleh - dirt cheap contract..he kind of shot 3's though
Kabengele - 2-way contract, and he could kind of shoot

Meanwhile, we paid big money to KP and Al..bigs who were shooters. Like $30mil a year for KP and like $26mil a year for Al which went down to like $10mil a year when he was ancient..

And we've paid good money to shooters like white, Jrue, tatum, brown, pritchard, Hauser, Simons..
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

They tanking.

Read on Twitter

Yup, a team with AD, Cooper Flagg, Klay Thompson, PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively, Deangelo Russell and Naji Marshall (a better roster than ours) is tanking..

They know they ain't competing for a championship this year with Luka gone and Kyrie with a torn ACL..so they want to add another really good young player to pair with Flagg and Lively to give themselves a nice young core.

Smart.

Flagg is underwhelming.

14.4 ppg at 39% shooting and 29% 3pt FG.

If the Suns want to get out of Grayson Allen's contract then maybe Simons for Grayson and Richards is possible.

Suns are spending 80-90m for Booker and Jalen Green.
Maybe Grayson Allen is available.

Grayson looks like a good fit with the Cs.

What is LA doing with John Collins? Simons for Collins should work.

I have to assume Brad fears that would create more wins for the team.

They're playing Collins at PF since they don't really have anyone else at that position.

Doing that deal would leave the Clips with too many guards (Simons, Beal, Harden, Dunn, CP3, etc.) and no one at PF..so they'd have no reason to do it.

And there's also not much incentive for the Celtics to do it. Both guys are on an expiring contract, making basically the same amount of $. So it's not like we save $ or get off of Simons' long term money - Simons is expiring. It only makes sense to move him if we get someone who makes much less $ than him which is not the case with Collins. Or if we'd flipping Simons for a center who could be our long term C but Collins isn't really a C and is on an expiring contract so can't really pencil him in as a possible starting C of the future for us..

Simons fills more of a need for this year's celtics team as well. If we did this swap, we wouldn't have enough ball handling, we wouldn't have enough shooting and our backcourt wouldn't be deep enough. What would Collins bring to the table that we don't already have? And even if he did bring something else to the table, we're not trying to win this season and he's an expiring contract..so what's the point?

What's Zion's contract?? does it work under the 2nd apron and tax? Probably not

I just want to see some boldness! I don't think Jays, White, Minott, and Queta is gonna be a title team. But, also, we have a lot of financial constraints and also we don't have young players who have premium, leaguewide value nor are we sitting on surplus draft capital. So I want to see some boldness and creative ideas!

Is that Zion Williamson? No, most likely not. But a bold move that pans out would be greatly appreciated by this fan!

I like the 2nd one about JJJ better. Though, I doubt we have the assets to compete in that one.

Guys, the Mavericks are absolutely NOT tanking. Yes, they suck, badly, but it's by complete accident. They wanted to be good this year.

What would be KD be the purpose of that.
I am for holding White at least get 1 more season with Tatum. He is starting a bit slow this year but he really is an exceptional two way player.
