BOS in: Jrue Holiday, Omer Asik, 2nd round pick
NOP in: Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green

add Anderson on Pelicans side
add Zeller on Boston side

I will go for it.

I wouldn't be so sure.

He's close with Rudy Gay (when he declined to extend in SAC, Gay had not yet been extended) and he has an MVP caliber big to play with in Cousins.

If Ainge tells him he's getting traded regardless, Rondo could certainly open up to the idea of playing in SAC. I really believe that. I mean, where else would he really go? LA? NY?

OMG, LOOK! IT'S ALREADY HAPPENED!

got to agree with Caveman, i just can't see Rondo hitching his star to a team owned by someone who just terminated a popular coach because he refused to implement the '5 on 4' defense...

Top priority in any Rondo trade should be to get rid of Avery Bradley.

How do guys feel like the rumored Wright + contracts + 1st round pciks for Rondo?

Personally, meh i like Wright but i think we can get a better package for rondo.. Dallas has nothing as far as young talent..

Trade that worked out was Wright, Nelson, and Ledo for Rondo

I am blindly assuming that Danny isn't this stupid. We can sign Wright and their draft pick will be right after the Clipper pick and before our Sixers 2nd rounder.....we don't need it. There is no incentive for us take that junk. We would be dumping Rondo for nothing.

I'd rather roll the dice on Monroe or even the poo poo platter from Sac including McLemore than walk away with Wright.

I highly doubt Wright is the key part of any deal and I wouldnt believe the first rumor you hear.

Talks do seem to be a lot more serious tho than they have ever been. Far more likely that Rondo isn't here to finish the year than ever before.

Well if Rondo ends up traded for expirings and picks, you better believe Green is headed out after him.

Plenty of teams out there that could give up a pick for him to goose their rotation for the playoffs - Toronto, Memphis, Chicago, Atlanta...

But what on earth are we going to do with all these picks? Assuming we got 3 more picks in the 2015-2017 range, that would give us 10 first rounders in the next 3 years.

Anyone think Bucks would be interested in Green? Not sure if they have anything to give for him, but with Jabari done for the year, they could use a SF to plug in as they look liked a playoff team before he went down. I think Bucks would go in with the mindset that it's a one year rental of Green to help make that playoff push.

Perhaps as part of 3/4 team megatrade?

I agree on all points. I'm just going to let the rumor mill run its course. That said, I also think Danny is sending smoke signals to the fans that our expectation to get a huge package in return may not be met.

If Rondo is being a prick about signing an extension with whatever team we offer him to, his value as a half season rental does diminish. He has already said he is looking forward to his "free agent tour" like he's Melo or LeBron.....I can see why Danny is want to dump him sooner rather than later. I agree that the time to trade him is right now and I think he's gone within the next few weeks, if not sooner.

I hope Boogie is absolutely PISSED that the Kings wouldn't pony up more than the garbage Cubes just sent our way and he demands a trade.

Not sure why he'd want to play here now, but that's irrelevant... I need some kind of silver lining, even if it's based in BS.

Posted this in another thread but do you think the Celtics could pry Dragic away from Phoenix? I would love to see him on the Celtics. No idea what it would take to get him, Green and a draft pick?

There's no way Phoenix dump Dragic before they dump Thomas.

If I recall correctly Dragic is expiring, but he's by far their best guard.

Can you explain your reasoning a little? Expirings for Perkins (also expiring), Expirings, Turner, and a pick for KG (also expiring) and Plumlee? Expirings and Turner for expirings, Hansborough and a pick?

I think you're overpaying and combining guys you could get something for separately..

One target I'd be looking at if I were Ainge would be Pelicans and Eric Gordon. He's probably going to be out for the season and Ainge could consolidate the roster and pick up a future pick, perhaps get Austin Rivers as a quasi-throw in.

Say

To NO: Bass, Thornton, Nelson
To C's: Gordon, Rivers, 2018 1st round pick

Pelicans free up salary for next year as Gordon is nearly certain to exercise his $15.5MM option. If New Orleans remains in shouting distance for the playoffs, this might intrigue enough to offer the 1st.

Boston gets another pick and a possibility for an resurgent season from Gordon in 15-16. When healthy (not often in recent years), Gordon is a scorer.

Actually might want to look into this sooner rather than later and try to peddle Nelson off in a subsequent deal at the deadline.

Brewer was had for two second rounders, I wonder if that is the value we can expect for Bass and/or Green..

Maybe Ainge set the bar low with that Rondo trade yesterday...Even the Hornets don't want to trade Lance "for now".
