Edit: Oh, and it can't be a nutjob like Boogie.

Cousins is literally the only player in the league right now fitting that description. Love, Porzingis and Towns are getting there.

I'd love to pick up another shot at Ayton next year, and Sacramento seems like the team foolish enough to acquiesce.

This shows you that the Celtics need to be extra careful with Avery Bradley's strained Achilles. Keep him out for as long as it takes for him to get healthy.

It's hard to tell if WCS is actually any good because of Kings' bigs situation, but even if he is, he isn't much better rebounder than Horford.

I wanna slap whoever OK'd him to play silly. But if I had to guess, it was AB who insisted he's good to go.

No thanks on wcs. Overhyped. Kid doesn't board or score.

He was actually a good short term target for us. Sucks. Could have had him cheap. I think teams are dumb not trading these guys. If you don't want a guy, get rid of him.

I can see Crowder getting traded on the day of the draft to either SAC, MN, PHI, or New Orleans, and Ainge picking Isaac.

There's the bad news and the good news.

The bad news is that if Ainge doesn't act to bring in rebounding help, this team is going nowhere. Could be another first round exit, even if they win 50+ games.

The good news is that we will now have a moratorium on trade proposals involving Rudy Gay.

I'm one that believes Danny Ainge and the Celtics management could care less about this season. It's all about free agency and the draft next year.

Celtics are improving, going to be a 50+ win team and are going to make the playoffs. Win, win, win.

I'm not anticipating the Celtics doing anything at the trade deadline except minor moves. I'm not expecting the Celtics to take on any salary for next year unless it's a star player.

I think lot of posters in this forum are going to be very disappointed after the trade deadline

What would it take to get Nurkic? With Jokic really making the position his own, Nurkic is on the outs in Denver. I think he's a decent fit and improves our rebounding woes.

But if the Celtics are a better team and win a playoff series or two, doesn't that help them in free agency? I'm not sure how attractive a team that got knocked out of the first round three years in a row will be.

I think we'll be major favorites in the first round no matter what. We could use a rebounder, but if no one comes available at a low price and/or expiring, I'm fine letting it ride.

Here's an idea I had based on the Noel and lesser of PHIL/LAL pick for Bradley

Celtics trade Bradley and Rozier for Vucevic and Orlando's 2017 pick.

Fair enough. But to my mind, when you have a glaring weakness like that, it's going to come down to the match-up you draw. If the C's end up as the 3 seed and run into a strong 6 seed that can hammer them on the boards, that could be a problem.

And please be clear, I'm not proposing major assets be used to improve this year...just that I disagree with the "Ainge doesn't (or shouldn't) care about this year" idea. I don't think it's that simple.

I forgot we're throwing in the Brooklyn pick. Maybe both.

It's beginning to look that way to me as well. What's the purpose of all that cap space anyway? If they are saving it for Hayward, he doesn't make them a contender because he doesn't solve the rebounding probmlem. And if they're saving it for another shot at Durant, that train ain't coming any time soon.
