who would be best amongst - Juancho Hernangomez - Grant Williams - Jabari Parker - (not including Bruno and Hauser since one is more a center while the other (my top pick) won't be ready yet)???

seems kind of same level but different skill sets.

Good point playa and that's a good thing. If Hernangomez can protect the rim then we could use him. Parker can provide buckets and GWill is a 3 and D player. We got the perimeter players. Now load up more on the front court and take it to our eastern rivals. Target number one- the Bucks, target two - the Nets.

Target one is the nets if they are healthy. Inch or two less and it would have been Nets in the finals. I don't discount the Bucks win too much because you still have to put yourself in position to capitalize on (Nets) misfortune, they did, but KD was almost enough alone. Giannis may be a new monster though after winning it, like LBJ was, but will it be enough vs a healthy nets?

Anyway, Cs aren't afraid of any of them, we are grinding all of them to dust!!!

Can Al Horford still ball? Watching the highlights from this video (games played last year) I would say yes he can. He looks really good. He is a savvy veteran, and his skills do not look diminished much at all. What do you say?

I think Al is going to kill it this year now that he's where he wants to be and has a real role and something to play for. He barely played last year so he should be healthy and well rested. It will be like a Blake in Brooklyn thing where he looked washed and never even dunked the ball in Detroit and then as soon as he went to the Nets it was Lob City again. But more so because Al is the better player at this point.

Celtics are going to treat Al Horford like Kemba Walker next year. Play Al and any kind of tweak or injury they sit him for a few games. Big Al will play probably 20-25 mpg and about 65 games if everything goes to plan.

Big Al Horford’s biggest value is being 100% healthy heading into the playoffs

People joke, but Average Al is just what we need. The guy just knows how to play. No, he isn't a star anymore but if he's healthy, he'll still give us a little of everything we need out of a big, especially in today's NBA. Being good at everything, but not great at anything is not a bad thing. You need a SMART steadying force and that is Al! He will defend (a lot), rebound, pass, shoot, and mentor/lead. Yeah, we saw the best of him years ago, but he is still a good player. When healthy Al is in the range of the 14m he is guaranteed next season, everyone can't be a 20m+ player, he's good enough for what we need (hoping for good HEALTH)!

One thing he has going for him is he already had an "old man" game when he was here, he certainly wasn't an above the rim kind of guy. He might have lost a step but he's not as reliant on athleticism as most players.

I think Al's value is (1) as a tutor for the Timelord and Bruno Fernando, and (2) as a partially guaranteed trade chip next Summer. Whatever he provides on the basketball court is gravy.

I think you're vastly underrating how good Al still is on the court..

You look at his per 36 numbers and his advanced stats last year and across the board they were right in line with what he did for most of his prime.

Yes, he played well for OKC. But not so well in Philly.

Also, the playoffs occur after the trade deadline, yes? He may not be a Celtic at that point.

You are severely underrating his value as a basketball player

Al Horford is our starting center. He will give us 25-27 quality minutes. He will be very, very good for us.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he will be just fine for the start of the season..

Stevens did indeed rock the Casbah. All the "experts" agree.

:-? Well that's one favorable source but don't you also recall that most analysts saw our offseason at near the bottom. I don't know maybe I just more of the negative ones. Carry on

Nice round table, and Smitty nails it for me: B+/A-. Getting out from under Kemba's deal while getting back a big who bring defense/passing is a big win. i was happy to see fournier go, especially at that price. resigning smart+TL to fair deals brings stability, and i like the commitment to Smart as the PG, i think that's his best spot. the one negative was i didn't understand why Jrich had to be extended now. and i don't like schroeder in general, though at that price he's great value. plus i think he hit on begarin, 1st round talent in the mid-2nd.

but the move nobody talked about was the thing I think will have the biggest impact on the C's: hiring Ime Udoka.

Ime will be a great coach, you can just tell. he has a presence, an intensity, and relates to guys in a way that brad never could. he's the kind of guy that players will run thru a wall for. and that more than anything is what we need. we are not short of talent on this team, despite our record last year; we were short on intensity and playing like every possession mattered. i get the feeling Ime is not going to stand for guys not giving 100%, whether it's our stars or our deep bench.
