Ah yes the score first, shoot second, pass third, play defense last point guard. I thought we were done with that experiment around the Jays. Career wise, Fox has the same percentage from three point range (on lower volume) and a lower free throw percentage than Marcus Smart. He can't shoot.
He's exclusively a 1 with very little switchability so he won't fit Ime's defensive scheme. For that matter he hasn't fit any defensive scheme. Last year's Kings were the worst defense in NBA history and they were even worst with him on the floor. Per Cleaning the Glass, the Kings are 11 points per possession better on defense when Fox isn't in the game this year. That's gross.
In his career he has exactly one year when he had a positive on/off (or net rating for that matter) and hasn't even been close to neutral the other years. He doesn't contribute to winning. He allegedly came in 15 pounds overweight this season. He'll make 163 millions over the next five years. How many picks are the Kings adding so that we take on that contract ?
