It's beginning to look that way to me as well. What's the purpose of all that cap space anyway? If they are saving it for Hayward, he doesn't make them a contender because he doesn't solve the rebounding probmlem. And if they're saving it for another shot at Durant, that train ain't coming any time soon.

If that is indeed the plan, I'm guessing once Hayward is on board, Bradley or Crowder will be traded for a big. Probably Bradley given his upcoming contract.

It's hard to tell if WCS is actually any good because of Kings' bigs situation, but even if he is, he isn't much better rebounder than Horford.

No thanks on wcs. Overhyped. Kid doesn't board or score.

Still has potential, and you don't need him to be able to score. But you need him to rebound. I'd trade for him as a project, maybe. But Jordan Mickey, who only played two years in college, has shown a lot of promise himself.

probably u right... but we just might have the right blend of fear and hubris in otown right now to stir up some action

if we want to throw a joker in the deck for a playoff run mangIna rike sweet lou will and james johnson. u can throw either one of these guys in a game and they can turn it for u. if the price was a late first rounder mangIna prob do it.

Both of those names are on my list as well.

Pretty sure Miami likes Johnson, but they're also absolutely committed to the tank at this point. He's expiring, decent, and in the value tier where a slight "overpay" still won't touch our better assets.

Lakers also absolutely need to go for the bottom. They've got not one but two unprotected 1sts riding on it. It's just a risk they have to take at this point.

I wanted Louis Williams at last year's deadline. He might be the best mid tier scoring option available now that Gay is not going to be moved. Just think of the scoring punch we'd get from the bench with him getting all of Rozier's minutes and then some. He's way more consistent than KO or Green can be in scoring points every night.

I could be down for some Lou Williams, should easily be able to trade him again in the offseason for cap space if necessary

I just noticed Williams is averaging 17.8PPG on 24.3MPG! That's nuts. He's playing Rozier minutes and scoring 18 points a night! He's also shooting the 3 at the highest percentage of his career this season.

I dont understand how people can say players that have never played a minute in the NBA would be so much better long term for this team than Isaiah Thomas who is a top 5 player this year in the league the way he has been playing. Pairing a rookie with AB will do nothing but set this franchise back. At least you know IT wins you games...a lot of games.

for sure mia likes jj he is balling his ass off. dragic will literally hand the ball off to jj and let him run the point and play off ball several times a game. he is prob the only reason to watch that club right now. the guy can do it all... but he will single handedly win them some games and that prob aint good for them....

In what **** world is IT a top 5 player in the league?

This is why people make fun of Celtics fans.

LeBron is barely top 5 in the MVP race, yet he may go down as the greatest player of all-time when it's all said and done. Charles Barkley's (of all people) opinion on the MVP race has nothing to do with the overall talent level in this league.

IT is not at all as good or better than LeBron, Curry, Kawhi, Durant, Harden, Westbrook, Davis, Giannis, etc..

It's not close.

So scoring 29 ppg (10 in the 4th) for the 3rd team in the conference doesn't make YOUR season a top 5 candidate for the MVP...Yeah, i must be crazy. I will visit the doc tomorrow #sarcasm

Maybe Top 5 offensive player. His defense brings him back a few spots away from top 5 player IMO.

If you'd take IT over any of those players I mentioned and more right now on this team, you're a shameful liar.

Return to Boston Celtics
