Paying for his upside I guess? At least it's a short deal.

Parker to bulls is a positive move. One they will only be slightly good. Good young nucleus and with Levine and Parker they just ruined their chance at a star FA add next year. Dumb move for real competitive team but will likely be ahead of Sacramento next year. My fear is SAC may be the worst team in the league

Why would you fear that?

We want SAC to be the worst team in the league. The way the new lotto odds tails off, as SAC moves up in the rankings the expected pick outcome drops faster than does the odds of us losing it to Philly.

In fact the one thing we absolutely do not want is for SAC to be the 2nd or 3rd worst team. Those teams have the same odds of losing the pick to Philly, but worse odds of other outcomes after 1-3. So they are strictly worse than the #1 position for us.

The Bulls are an awful front office.

I like what Chi has build, really promising young team imo.

They may be close to be in playoffs imo.

Dunn
Lavine
Parker
Markanen
Lopez

With a solid but young bench.

I don't think we can find PT for him. Roster spot and every dollar are critical too.

The new odds are interesting - they basically put a ceiling... no, a floor - on how much you can tank - if you’re bad, you’re only rewarded up to a certain threshold. You can be one of the bottom teams, but there’s no reward for being much worse than everyone else.

It would take resigning Marcus and then maybe trading Morris for a cheaper player or pick, maybe packaged with Nader. Have mentioned Vonleh before as an interesting reclamation project - could have a season like Biyombo in Toronto one of these years.

Vonleh is only 22 and has bounced around to three teams. Not many chances to grow and develop as a player.

Certainly would be interesting.

In Chicago, he played well statistically... :D

With Hayward coming back, we could afford to exchange Morris for an asset and gamble on giving developmental minutes to Yabs, Semi, and Williams at the .. 3.7-4.25. Is that Morris’ position? Brad has mentioned Yabu playing some 5.. Williams and Semi should be able to play the 4. We’ll take some lumps, but probably have the veteran stability to be ok.

The question would be whether to give a spot to a developmental player - Vonleh, someone by trade - or a vet - David West, Trevor Booker are available - and guys who can score on the second unit - Wade, Jamal Crawford, Mike Beasley.

I don't dislike the Parker deal for Chicago. I think it is actually pretty good. The 30 game regular season this past year wasn't great, but he showed what he could do the year before.

He is still only 23. They are taking a shot on him and not messing up any flexibility with the 1+1(team option) deal. I certainly like it better than what Atlanta did with their cap space.

The Levine match? Not so much

Abdel Nader for the removal of protection on the SAC pick. And right to swap 1sts in 2020 and 2022. Who says no?!

I still have a thing for Vonleh. Think he would be an interesting signing if some minor roster juggling occurred.
