Hard to say where the team is at after 4 preseason games where our starters didn't play much and the teams we faced sat out a lot of their starters.
The team still shoots a lot of 3s, but not much from the PF and C positions as last season with KP and Al.

We will get a better feel for the team after about 15-20 games into the regular season.

We know what we have in Brown, White, Pritchard, Hauser, Simons and Boucher. What I was personally looking for was how guys like Minott, Garza, Hugo, Walsh and Baylor were going to play.

Minott was the star of the preseason for me out of Garza, Hugo, Walsh and Baylor. Garza played well in all the 4 games. Hugo had good moments. Baylor was like Baylor of SL. Walsh hardly played due to getting injured in the 1st game.

Also Tillman is playing better, like he was in Memphis, before he came to Boston. He is faster, quicker and leaner than last season.

Stevens nailed the Gonzalez pick. This dude is smart and can play. I love it.

The Boston Celtics have signed Hason Ward to an Exhibit 10 contract, a league source told
@spotrac.com.

Probably just so we can have his affiliate rights and route him to Maine.

Otherwise, why bother signing him to this type of contract after the rpeseason games are all over?
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything :)

Might as well. He was on the Maine squad last year.
At least he'll get the Ex-10 payment, this time.

We'll likely see more signings.

Have caught little of the preseason as well.

But, caveat being it's crazy early, if the guys that emerge from the young group is Minott, Hugo and maybe Garza and/or Queta as a backup, that's great. Perfect even, and that comes from a guy that's rooted on Baylor and Walsh the whole time.

But if they have a group of PP, White, Brown, Tatum, Boucher (maybe re-signed), Hauser, the aforementioned all they need is one good big man and they will be at least very competitive.

They won't be as good or nearly as skilled, knowledgeable, experienced etc etc etc as 2004, but they will be a heck of a lot more athletic.

I'll take either of the Thunder big men personally. Those tax payments can be tough, believe me I've seen it.

Brad Stevens hasn't stopped chasing after his best player in Butler, Gordon Hayward, even after he's acquired the actual Hayward (but lost him to an early unfortunate catastrophic injury). From guys like Fournier (though this one was Ainge's I think), Scheierman, Hugo Gonzalez, Svi, Drew Peterson, and now Hason Ward whose name sounds a lot like Hayward.

Hason Ward was with Maine last season and he was their rebounder and shot-blocker.

Nothing to lose with that Exhibit 10 contract.

Yeah. He was an Affiliate Player last year. Looks like he'll be one this year, as well.

overall, even though we didn't play but one game against NBA competition and even though Tatum was out, I thought our offense looked signficantly higher paced with a lot more basket cuts than what we saw last year. And I thought the pace and cuts were great. Made for some really exciting hoops!

I'm more excited for the regular season than I was before these games!
