Re: Jaylen Brown Thread
Brown is going to get his year, as the #1 option.
Everybody else on the Team, will also have to step up and/or Develop. Including Tatum, in a sense.

AVC puts him at #20. No crazy insights - big year w/out Tatum, see how he does as a #1. Was maybe more injured than we heard last year.

Really soft year imo with the injuries and the old guys aging out.
Edit: one could argue about the details but it's decent enough, and only 6 of the top 20 guys are in the East. Trip to the Finals is wide open for someone in the east this year.

Re: Jaylen Brown Thread
The Celtics may be playing with fire this season. If Brown carries this team to the playoffs, it'll likely be an ignominious early exit (plus no lottery pick). But if the team misses the playoffs, then Brown's value may take a hit -- not all his fault considering the current roster.
A catch-22 situation.

Until a Tatum return for this season is ruled out, anything's possible.

People are nuts, that sucks big-time for Jaylen, even if the article said they aren't close

Just glad it wasn't Jaylen who got arrested.
Headline says Jaylen Brown's father was arrested.
Why not just say Marselles Brown was arrested.

My sense has been that Jaylen is a lot closer to his paternal grandfather than he is to his father. E.g., Jaylen lived in Atlanta, dad lived in Hawaii, but granddad moved into Jaylen's house in Boston for the pandemic.

That's crazy. His dad is 7 feet tall and a former professional boxer. Why did he need a knife if the reports are true? There are so mental issues going on there. Sad.

Because it wouldn't be a headline at all if he weren't Brown's dad.
Tough for Jaylen, but tougher for the guy who got stabbed.

Yep, close to mom on one side and granddad on the other. Lots of people deal with one or more crazy family members, and if he's estranged from his dad, it's pretty clear where the fault is on that.

I think there's a grandmother who was a big deal too, except that she's no longer around. In Michigan, perhaps?

Because Jaylen Brown was way more famous and recognizable in 2025 than his dad. Saying JB's name in the headline gets way more clicks.
Clickbait.
Nothing wrong with having a different opinion - as long as it's done respectfully. It'd be lame if we all agreed on everything

Re: Jaylen Brown Thread
Jaylen has been doing dangerous fan type stuff for the last month or so. Dunking in Tims, playing ball at every event (he’s done that before, without previous injury though), dunking “on” everybody, and he just raced IShowspeed. That race with Speed was dangerous because the fans were unruly, they were on uneven cobblestone, and he almost ran through speed’s cameraman.
Forgetting JB for a moment, Speed had as many fans or more in the streets than when the Celtics won the chip! They were happier to see him than JB. I never see that many fans no matter what player is out there, including when fans gather for LBJ. These streamers are huge stars and more popular than players atp! 43m streamers were watching his live!! Crazy!! I didn’t know who he was, watched for JB’s live, but I asked family members and they looked at me as though I was stuck in a cave for 50 years! Wild stuff! I watched a few more minutes of the stream without JB, I don’t get the appeal, but he must be doing something right with all that fanfare. You would have thought he was about to do something big the way all those people were out in the streets, all he was doing was going to get a tour of Harvard, they were following him and packed like sardines, the whole way outside of the car or when he was walking with the bodyguard surrounding him. Congrats to him, but the world has changed! Wow.

I've never heard of Speed either. I'm assuming he's really fast?

So, people told me he races people who call him out, mainly regular fans. That’s all I know. I guess that’s fun or w/e, I’m not hating on these streamers because make that money, but it’s not my ministry.

Did JB win the race?
