Last night and even our game 1 is why closing out series earlier is so important. The Wolves had to have been partly gassed to let the Mavs win. They barely eeked it out but still.

The Pacers in game 1 made so many stupid mistakes I think it partly came down to fatigue...How many stupid turnovers they had, if they were better rested I think we may not have won.

All good stuff for us...I hope Wolves/Mavs goes to 7 and we take care of business...whomever wins and comes out of the West would be similar to how we looked when we were in the Finals two years ago...our guys looked to have hit a wall and we all know what happened...

We want him to not disappear in the 4th. To actually hit shots when needed to keep us in the game. He missed two straight clutch shots in the final 30secs. 0 pts in the last 9mins won’t cut it. What he did in OT, was the thing he was supposed to do in regulation. That’s why he gets all the criticisms. He disappears in the 4th. Maybe this OT play changes everything for him. He still has a chance. We can’t win it all with JT playing like that. 4pts in the 4th???
0 in the last 9 mins, is awful.
I would rather JT score in bunches in the closing mins in the 4th on a tight game, than having a great game the first 3 quarters, when the pressure is way way less, and disappearing in the 4th.

If JT scores the same points and early and it helps us get a good lead as opposed to getting behind and scoring late to win I honestly don’t care that much. No player wins every time in the clutch so getting the lead first helps take the pressure off.

But don’t get me wrong, JT was awful in the 4th in game 1 and hasn’t had a great year overall in late game execution compared to previous years. But he has also been great many times in his career.

I’m not that worried about it (yet).

Bro, having a lead in the early part means nothing. We had a 13 pt lead, and Tatum made a lazy pass to Jaylen, a little fancy, and got stolen. I went downhill after that. Id rather him be unstoppable in the 4th and getting doubled, to free up the other guys, but he was being guarded single coverage by nesmith, and he was bothered.

If you honestly think 3 points in minute 47 is worth more than 3 points in the first minute of the game, well let’s just agree to disagree.

They will eventually get there though.

So games like Game 1 against the Pacers will happen from time to time.

Huh When can we expect them be a veteran team that they are. They have the most playoff experience of any of the teams left.

When JT is 28 and JB is 29.

Maybe they're just slow learners.

The good news is even with their flaws right now, they're good enough to win a chip.

Just hope the mistakes will be at a minimum.

It's called the Green list for a reason.

If the Celtics don't win a championship they will be #1 on everyone's list.

Which team does Antoine Walker root for if it's Dallas - Boston

Let's hope the Mavs overachieve again, this time in their series against the Wolves... Otherwise, imagine how much pressure going to war against a 22-year old "new face of the NBA" would be for JT (& JB), as opposed to battling a hobbled 25-year old Luka who's been moving like he belongs in Al Horford's class.

I'm with you on this.

The goal is to win, not aspire to have a perfect game.

The last 4 games Anthony Edwards has averaged 20ppg on 49.5% True Shooting. National media may have been a little quick to anoint him bets two way player in the game.

He's good, he's 22, we don't need to jump to conclusions on a guy when the two playoff defenses he's faced are Phoenix and Denver.

Chances are JT will reach the Finals in a much better shape than Luka, who’s already banged up.
Edwards isn’t clearly better than JB, let alone JT. Let’s include defense in the conversation.
Things are finally looking up for us.
As long as KP suits up for the Finals.
Jrue, White, JB, JT, KP. Brad’s Masterpiece.

Dallas is so much a better matchup for us, it is crazy. No disrespect because Kyrie and Luka are killers, but much prefer them than Minny.

I was more afraid of Minny before last night. The three bigs they have I feared would be a matchup nightmare. Kat, Gobert and Reid vs whatever Horford has in the tank, whatever percentage Porzingis will be health wise and the weakest link in Kornet (they'd eat him alive).

However last night showed they are beatable, I never remember the Mavs bigs names...but they were good enough for it not to matter.

I still think what I said above is the reason why, a killer 7 game series wore them down a bit. Whomever comes out of the West will likely be exhausted. Hoping for another 7 game series.

Toine played for the Timberwolves too so as long as we win he'll probably be conflicted.

Dallas offensive rebounding is a problem. Gaford and Lively crash the boards well.
We didn't play well against strong offensive rebounding teams

MIN has dumb players in KAT and the 6th man
Gobert isn't there on offense most times and ANT man looks like someone stepped on him

Hope this goes to 7, but I can see Dallas winning in 5. Doncic seems like he enjoys the game again, which is a bad sign for the other team (he is still a cone on defense but other players cover for him)

This is one reason why the JT comparisons are spurious. JT has years of high-level, high pressure experience that Ant doesn't have. JT should be outperforming him.
