I'm with that. 6'10", 22 yrs old. He'd fit right in here.

Assuming a flat tax threshold / apron from this year, and no teamshattering trades (a la Hayward out), we project to be above the apron next year, meaning we're limited to the tax-payer MLE, about 5.7mil or so.

It seems really strange to me that SAC would not match that, but I guess they've already effectively done that by declining his 4th year option of ~4mil. If they wanted him at 5.7, presumably they would have wanted him at 4. Though I guess things can change.

Why is he so on the outs over there?

Edit: Just read the thread on the Kings board. Seems like health is a huge factor. Then some attitude, some ability, some Kings being Kings.... Who knows.

I don’t know how to link Instagram but Tatum had it up on his, a picture of him and Giles inside the bubble saying how they were still best friends. Tatum is our franchise guy and his BFF is a free agent this offseason who also happens to play a position of need for Boston, fits their timeline and is in their price range. Biggest no brainer ever to me.

Great listen for those who are interested. Kanter has a lot of great things to say about Brad, the organization, and all the players.

Oh I'm very down. For the price we are restricted to paying, it seems like a great gamble (unless the FO has significant contraindicating information, obviously). I'd just be flabbergasted if no one outbids us.

But then, maybe we don't have to make the highest bid. If he's really close with Tatum, and we sell him on a potentially major role with a contending team with a long window, that could be worth a few mil.

I don't currently see many ways of adding serious talent to this team; taking a chance on a high-ceiling player with injury questions is definitely one of the ways to do it.

Assuming Giles will have better offers than the Celtics can produce. At his age and injury concerns, deciding to forego millions of dollars to play with his buddy would be so dumb. Can't believe he'd do that.

I wish they’d have extensive video highlights of the practices. Seems like every other team has highlights lol

Will the scrimmages next week be televised?

Edit: Yes they will be!
