Season 2 of "Tires" is out and did not disappoint. It's on Netflix.

A few excellent movies I've seen lately. These are all the small-paced, dialogue-centred type (except Dinner in America).

- The Innocents (2021), a Norwegian psychological horror film whose four main characters are little kids (and boy, can they act!).

- Dinner in America (2020). I decided to watch because Mary Lynn Rajskub had a little screen time in it. It ended up being one of the best movies I've watched this year.

- Two Days, One Night (2014). Marion Cotillard.

- Mass (2021). Just four people in a room talking, and time flies. I know I'll watch this one again in a few years.

- The Promised Land (2023), a Danish historical drama.

- Only Lovers Left Alive (2013). This was a worthy rewatch.

Anybody has seen any of these? Most of them seem to have gone unnoticed, some didn't even break even.

Great sophisticated picks. I will watch when time allows. TYVM, SD.

Now I don’t have to watch for the 10th time apiece:
Gladiator (Russell Crowe 200# lighter, Joaquin Phoenix, OMG SO **** HOT CONNIE NIELSEN - Academy Award Winner).
https://youtu.be/lEM5nJ-AUiM?si=HlC7__lBd8T5XjCy
Saving Private Ryan.
Philadelphia.
Forrest Gump.
Last of the Mohicans (DDL Is on Olivier’s level & great clothed sex scene).
The Departed (Jack, Leo, Matt, Wahlberg - Academy Award Winner - SO SO **** GOOD).
Godfather 1 and 2 (Simply awesomely exquisite - Brando - Pacino & DeNiro have diminished themselves for the most part since 2000 in the roles they have accepted for $$$).
The Town (Best film of Affleck’s life - Jeremy Renner & Jon Hamm were awesome - I find Rebecca Hall overwhelmingly ****).
Glory (Denzel is magnificent in everything & another Sidney Pottier).
Fury (Brad is not just a pretty face - awesome actor).
La La Land (My GF at the time warned me that it was a chick flick, but loved the music & got emotional at the end because I am more in touch with my feminine side as I age - even enjoy post-coital snuggling these days).
After Life (Ricky Gervais is funniest & most irreverent comedian since Robin, &, like Robin, is a phenomenal actor as well - After Life uniquely combines hilarity beyond description & delicately acted poignancy).
Pride & Prejudice.
Dunkirk.
A Few Good Men (JACK VS CRUISE - https://youtu.be/t7EksvnO9hI?si=eEKryKJiPJzqunel)
PS The musical themes of many of these movies are hauntingly beautiful - Gladiator, Mohicans, Godfather, La La Land in particular!
PPS I can still do this:
https://youtu.be/-q0CleOWbOU?si=12-qpe_Mm93qSyhx
https://youtu.be/573Z_-rJWDE?si=vTvXkdj5rsCZcVFd
SamIam 2010: Truth's ability to play so incredibly efficiently is so UNDERAPPRECIATED. Bballcool 2012: Amazing how great Pierce has been for so long. Continues to defy age! KG 2013: P is original Celtic. Wherever he goes, we go. This is The Truth's house.

50th Anniversary of Jaws. Going to a huge event on Martha’s Vineyard next weekend for it. Many celebs are gonna be there including Richard Dreyfuss.

Ben Affleck was reasonably good in Argo and also in Gone Girl (both very good movies if you ask me).

Some pretty good titles on that list, ex.

Final Destination: Bloodlines was so good!!! It may be my favorite. I will say, I was traumatized more from the first few, like most of everyone who saw it, can’t see anything on the back of a truck and stay near it and a log truck makes my skin crawl. Whole generation of people that drive differently because of FD! We all move and try to pass trucks.

I didn't love Only Lovers Left Alive, but I do love the director. Paterson, Night On Earth, Stranger Than Paradise. Jarmusch has been around since the 80's

Jarmusch had quite a bit of press back in the 80's in Argentina (where I grew up), but 'Only Lovers Left Alive' is the only one I've seen. I may need to check the others out.

Anyone watching "Ginny and Georgia" on Netflix? Season 3 has been solid and the 2nd to last episode just dropped a bomb. It's pretty funny and light and worth the watch.

Dead Man is great
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

I don’t know how I forgot that one. Jarmusch’s best, best western since the 1960s, incredible score

And it manages to wrangle a useable performance out of Crispin Glover. Like Phil Jackson coaching Rodman

Loved Ripley on Netflix. Gorgeous, luscious B&W and a sense of malevolence throughout.

I've seen The Innocents and Two Days, One Night. Both good recos. The Promised Land was something else though. One of my fave foreign films from recent memory. Cotillard and Mikkelsen are both great in whatever they do.

New movie Heads of State on Amazon was fun. Idris Elba and John Cena. You have to suspend your disbelief at how two politicians are beating the ass of trained assassins the whole time, but it's action packed and a good time.

Sinners is streaming on HBOMax now fyi. Gonna watch it tonight I think. Supposed to be really good.

That was fast. Sinners was incredible. Best movie I've seen all year and probably will see all year.
