The Jaylen Brown hate will always be the reason. Dude is carrying this team on his shoulders and he's doing it without Tatum, Jrue, Kristaps, Horford and a little Kornet. This team is currently sitting above .500 and is playing better than expected and Brown is the biggest reason for that. He's proving that he can be the number 1 guy and i'm here for it.

It’s a shame because Celtics fans should be celebrating his Boston career. Look around the league, all these stars quitting on their teams, getting in trouble, asking to be traded etc. Celtics fans are spoiled with two stars with the high character of Tatum and Brown.

Haters are always going to hate, that’s what they do. Not worth spending any time on it

Jaylen has been awesome this year. Attacking in very creative ways, keeping the defense on its heels and doing tons of great stuff.

I wish we could get him the ball off movement closer to the hoop (like the old Paul Pierce cut) bc just Jaylen gassing up to dribble into a set defense is still a turnover adventure.

And, lastly, if JB dribbles it over halfcourt, I think he should pass the ball to someone on our team, to keep his teammates involved and then, almost always, JB would get the ball back. The no-pass possessions, JB dribbles over halfcourt, JB dribbles, crossover, stepback, it's the JB Show -- they seem to have a low conversion % and high TOV %. Pass it, move, get it back

So, like I guess two complaints, but JB has been awesome this year. He's also got good chemistry with Queta, which is awesome!

EDIT: "Paul Pierce cut" -- Jaylen in the Paul Pierce role would be unstoppable

I'll take a Randle and a Siakam, thanks.

Ahh yes the same Siakam that has his team at a 4-16 record as the #1 option or the same Randle who gets to be the second option to the team that had the same record as us coming into tonight.

I don’t even understand why you expect for us to take you seriously on any Jaylen Brown conversation when you’ve made it pretty clear you’re dislike for Jaylen is beyond basketball reasons.

Brown is great.
He has been really good this season and I live his work ethic. He keeps I proving his game little by little.
He isn’t and won’t ever be first team NBA, but he is a solid top 20 guy so far this year, maybe even better. Love his passing this year.

I appreciate him playing in last nights game, but I wouldn’t mind him resting on some back to backs. You only need to play 65 JB!!

Brown doesn't care about the 65 games (see last year), he wants to make the playoffs. I'm guessing Brown plays against New York and rests against the Wizards before the Lakers game.

This is why the tank never made sense. People before the season and even now are asking why doesn’t he play 60-65 games for 20 minutes a night, get DNPs and go along with the tank. He wants to prove he’s a number 1 option which right now he is proving just that. This is a guy who has been consistently disrespected, yet you expect him to sit on the bench and waste a year because posters on a message board want the Celtics to go to tank city. The talent on this team, even with the rough front court was still that of a .500 team before the year.

It’s great to see Brown step up to the level of star like an Ant or Donovan Mitchell as the number 1 guy. It’s fun to go back and read the terrible takes about how he was washed up in 2023 on pages 1-10 of this thread. (BTW, That was the year he got his max contract and won NBA finals MVP.)

He is really taking important steps as a leader and also as the guy getting double teamed. He is learning to be a guy who can find open teammates and how to slow down and not always rely on strength and hops to make plays.

Edit: Celtics have lowest rate of turnovers in NBA. Who would have guessed that a team with JB as lone all star would have lowest turnovers? Not even me … and next to Stan I am his biggest fan.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

^about Brown being #1 guy, I came here to say the same thing. I think having 2 players Brown and Tatum at the same age/developmental stage sharing the spotlight, and the compromise that comes with that, makes it hard for either player to establish themselves as a standout #1 guy. This extended time of no restraint for Brown might be exactly what he needs to get to the next level, and the improvements will remain even after Tatum comes back. I'm not necessarily saying Brown is going to be the #1 over Tatum, but just that this time being the clear #1 will help him find a clearer identity.
