Basically that it doesnt have to be a sign then trade scenario but the cap is unforgiving so to make some things work other things will have to fall into place.

There's just no way, short of trading Smart, Tatum or Brown in a salary dump.

The only thing I can imagine is that you could deal Bradley, Crowder, Rozier to match salary for George, then deal Smart for someone making roughly 2.8 million a year or less - just a rough calculation, might be off. Guys in that category include Saric, Capela, Gary Harris, Cameron Payne, Justise Winslow.. Myles Turner, if we wanted to add Smart, and more assets to the deal - a lotto pick, basically.

Or, if we traded Jaylen/Marcus to the Knicks for Porzingis - they'll be under the cap - we'd clear a few million in salary, and possibly be able to keep Rozier out of a George deal.

Take Jaylen out of any deal. Makes life easier on everyone.

IT/Rozier/Allen
Hayward/Gerald Green
Paul George/Ojeleye/Nader
Horford/Tatum/Yabusele
Porzingis/Zizic

Pz is a gamble, Smart is a defensive star, Jaylen is a great young prospect. But you'd get over it fast.

Minnesota lucked out. We were holding back the 3, Denver was holding back Jamal Murray.. think Chicago could've had either if they waited. They blinked, but instead of taking a bad offer from us or Denver, they took Minnesota's best bad offer.

I think Ainge will hold tight to Jaylen and Tatum. Think they're off-limits in any deal.

Scratch Minnesota off the list of teams that's potentially worse than the Lakers or Nets (well, they were never threatening the Nets). Thibs has them going places.

And Zizic too. they need quality players with high upside and bright futures on cheap contracts. The Jordan Mickey's of the world are goners if it's a cap equation.

Anything that makes the Lakers weaker is a win. Beef up Minnesota!!! We'll give you Jackson if you need him!

He's already on record as not giving a **** about paying it for a contender. If they trade for George I'm about 90% sure he resigns. It would mean another player is probably coming in as well. Why leave that?

Wyc ain't worried about his money, I ain't worried.

If he can't afford it, they can add another investor. I am sure cash flow is OK with the Celtics.

Why hasn't Mike Zarren gotten a GM job yet?

Probably likes the brain trust, and I bet Ainge is going to give up those duties in several years. He is now 14 years and counting. Wow.
