I'm guessing Ainge felt that Indiana was going to cave to his demands and when they didn't Hayward got impatient and started looking elsewhere. It was already rumored that Indy was willing to go to 100 over 4.

You keep saying this, but it means nothing unless IND was willing to go to $120M/4.

Jared Weiss has already reported that they were not willing to go $30M for 4 years.

Milsap is DONE. Stay away...unless it is a 1 year deal, so we can use salary for trade...

Wondered if a sign and trade for Bogdanovic makes sense. Just can’t figure out who Boston trades? They don’t really have assets to make it work?

Charlotte doesn't have anyone who can shoot, the defense is going to smother Hayward. Enjoy your money

I want Baynes back. I think we tread water and weather the Hayward loss if we get him since we added Nesmith and Pritchard. It's not winning us a championship but he would fill our biggest need, knows the system and keeps us as a top 4-5 seed imo

LOL. Paul "over the hill" Millsap had better stats last year than Myles Turner in virtually every category except blocked shots. Sure, Millsap is on his way down. But he's still a better player than Turner.

Preach brother man, preach.

Some people were saying fire Brad too.

Fire Brad. Fire Danny. Ok. If they were so bad, we wouldn’t have gone that far in the playoffs.

Could Danny and Brad have done better? Yes. But they both are still better than 90% of the coaches/GMs out there.

And please, no one bring up Pops and the Spurs. They suck and didn’t make the playoffs.

I think Brad is a really good coach who’s only major flaw is that he has no real backbone to set his guys in line. But I still didn’t give it a thought when it came to the “fire Brad” crowd. There’s no one better out there to replace him.

Stevens has unfortunately been handicapped for the last three years by his poor “bench”....which was and is the responsibility of who?.....Oh, Ainge again....

Firing Ainge isn’t a knee-jerk reaction to this mishandling of the Hayward situation. I’ve been saying it for a few years now and this offseason is just beating a dead horse at this point....

I’ll say it again for the thousandth time: Ainge was a good GM. Emphasis on the was. Won us a title 12 years ago and made many great moves here in his time, but its been 18 years now and we need new blood in Boston.

You can’t keep bungling things this bad and expect the fanbase to have your back. Enough is enough.

This is by far the worst part of this entire deal.

Smart will once again be forced to do more than he can on offense.

Incoming endless passes in the stands and him doing his best 40 year old Kobe impressions all game every game.

Probably telling Tatum and Brown to go **** them selves and get out of his way as he needs to ISO on these fools.

Can we put together enough players to match D.Rose's contract? I think he could give us a lot of what Hayward did.

Kemba/Rose/Pritch
Brown/Smart/Romeo
Tatum/Nesmith
Millsap/Grant
Theis/Rob

I'd roll with that.

Just not sign anybody. Play the kids. MLE and BAE in the backpocket in case someone shakes loose midseason. Keep the books clean for offseason 2021. Build up Kemba's value. Prepare to trade him. Can we open up a max slot?

Kemba has 3 years around 105 mil left.

Stop with the danny doesn't do bad contracts take.

Thats a good contact. Thats where you're mistaken

It's prorated worse than hayward, they're the same age, both have injury issues.

Yea I think not. It's the same contract really.

That's how you know you're dealing with green teamers.

Last year danny a genius by not losing the cap hold on the max slot, this year danny a genius for not giving in to haywards contact demands.

Lololol

Kemba has an injury that is non long term. Don't really consider that injury issues

So do we lock this thread and move to the offseason thread, or lock the smaller off season thread and rename this?

He's been resting on his laurels though. He hasn't made any great moves since drafting Tatum.
