I guess that's OK.

I actually think we could use some more picks.

I wonder what kind of value we can get for the Philly and Minnesota second round picks. With so many teams trying to preserve cap room for free agency. I wonder if those early seconds will be worth a bit of premium due to the lack of a cap hold associated with the pick. Would a team be willing too give us a protected future first?

Just a thought if danny can't make a big move on draft day.

So guys...who you want to win tonight, MIN or PHO?

Im scared BRK could catch MIN after last week 2 wins...so I have to go with MIN this time...I want 3rd, but would not want to lose 4th!

I'm hoping for 2, 12, 22, 32, 42, and 52 just for the beautiful symmetry.

And amazingly the least likely is 32.

It's not unlikely it's impossible. The draft lottery does not effect the second round order. That is decided solely on record and their is no chance philly passes the lakers.

Suns and it's not even close . The Nets are likely to lose the next two games ( Heat & Magic) thus having the Nets jump ahead or tie with the Suns for 3rd spot in the Tankathon standings.

I like your confidence but I am cheering for Minny. I would be happy if we ended up in the 4th slot. NO may not win another game so there's that also. Just give me #4 and #12 or #13.

The Nets are scaring me here.

Well, if you want to nitpick I said least likely and the odds Philly passes LA is the least likely. And if you want to really nitpick, the odds are very low, but not zero.

Fivethirtyeight for instance gives Philly a .000011% chance of winning out and LA a 22.05% chance of losing out. So the odds of both happening are about 0.000002%.

Which is greater than zero.

Darren Williams (Mavs) has a strained groin and abdominal muscle. There is no timetable for his return.

I think sign-and-trades won't happen this summer as everybody has the cap room to make a deal and they are less common nowadays anyway. But if you had to trade for a star under contract who would it be and why?

Well sign and trades aren't only used when cap space isn't available. Say Horford wants to come to Boston, but he wants a 5 year deal. Celtics can't give him a 5 year deal, but the Hawks can in a sign and trade. Granted, we wouldn't be willing to give up much at all in that scenario, but that's one way. Also, could be useful for signing a restricted free agent to prevent their current team to match an offer.

When was the last NBA sign-and-trade? I seem to remember a lot of these 5+ years ago, but for some reason can't remember any in recent history. Wiggins kinda was a sign-and-trade, but I wouldn't count that as they had just drafted him. Most elite players I feel don't like them as they weaken the team they are joining (even though they get the extra money). Lots of teams don't like to participate because it means they are abandoning signing their own player.

Just cause they haven't been used often, doesn't mean they can't be used just because teams have cap space

No way in hell the Celtics trade a #1 or #2 pick for a player like Beal or Gobert.

What about if we expanded the Gobert trade, added more, and the Jazz add Hayward?

IT
AB
Hayward
Crowder
Gobert

Rudy Gobert in his third season is averaging 9.2 Pts, 10.8 Rebs, and 2.2Blks.
Deandre Jordan in his third season averaged 7.1, 7.2, and 1.8.
Gobert is 7'1 (two inches taller than Jordan) and is already viewed as one of the three best defensive centers in the league. He has far more offensive potential than Jordan. If Utah called and offered that deal we would take it in a heartbeat. If Boston calls an offers that deal, Utah listens politely and then hangs up the phone.

I didn't disagree with you

At this point, I am fully steeling myself for them to end the season on an 8-4 tear.

Anyway. As long as the Nets lose tonight, I'm pulling for Phoenix. If the Nets beat Miami, I am slamming my palm on the big red panic button and rooting for Minnesota...

I guess that's OK.

I wonder how far we could move up (in theory) with all of these picks as we need to consolidate them to only 2 or 3. The past shows that on a draft day:

You can trade 58+cash for 51 (2010: 57+cash for 51)
You can trade 42+52 for 38 (2013: 38+54 for 35)
You can trade 39+51 for 36 (2013: 38+54 for 35)
You can trade 23+35+36 for 17 (2012: 24+33+34 for 17)
You can trade 31+39 for 24 (2011: 28+43+cash for 23)
You can trade 17+24 for 13 (2013: 14+21 for 9)

The final result probably would be something like 4, 12, 13. In other words likely Bender/Hield/Murray, Luwawu and one of Skal/Sabonis/Poeltl... That would be something. 8-) :D
