We could just flat out sign Hayward into cap, I don't feel like a better chance at Hayward is worth Bradley and Brown.

Why would we do this if we can just sign him next year? Its not like we're gonna do anything this year. Besides that's a little too much don't you think?

We should make a run @ Westbrook.

If we offered our brooklyn picks, Jaylen Brown and threw in Marcus Smart and other young guys, I bet we could get it done.

For a one year rental? Sure. Then what?

Westbrook was born and raised in Long Beach, just a few miles north of LA propoer. He played his college ball in LA. There are two teams there, not just one, and the Clips are decent. As a couple of other posters have said, if Ainge gives anything close to this kind of assets for a rental, he should be fired on the spot.

I'm not giving up a shot at drafting Harry Giles or Jason Tatum for a rental. And I don't want to watch Westbrook hog the ball any more than I want to watch Harden.

I feel the same way about Hayward. No trade unless he agrees to an extension. In Hayward's case its more likely.

I dont understand Orlando's executives, they give everything for Ibaka, So we can get Vucevic cheaper.

Amir + Boston'18 First 1st pick = Vucevic ?

If we are going to cash in our chips, might as well be on Westbrook. With Westbrook and Horford we could have pole position on Griffin in 2017 too.

But you can't make that deal without some major assurances on Westbrook's end. We're not close enough to Golden St. to spend everything on a one year superstar rental.

I think the smarter move would be to let some other team get into the arms race. Put Horford and IT on the market at midseason. To Indiana (Myles Turner) or Miami (Winslow) or NYK (Porzingis).

I think we should all take guesses as to who is Dannys next infatuation... There are no more good Kevin's.... Anthony Davis? Another generic first name and a star.... Will want out of the Pelicans soon enough...

I'd trade everyone on this roster for AD.

Would you guys be more likely to trade for Love with KD off the table? How about Love/Shumpert for Bradley/Crowder/Olynick/2nd rounder?

Love is cost-controlled, pairs well wth Horford, and allows you to keep all of your picks to make a run at Westbrook. Russ is friends with Love (played college ball together) and Horford/Love/Thomas could be enough to entice Russ to stick around after you trade the 2 Brooklyn picks for him. Moving Crowder/Bradley also opens playing time for Brown, Rozier, Hunter, Young, and Smart.

Don't want Love at all anymore, he can't match up vs Clevland or Golden State and you'd have to beat both for a ring. Would rather play Crowder and have him guarding Lebron/Durant

It's to much. Bradley+ Young Players + Picks is enough.

That would be terrible for the team's reputation.

Jimmy Butler and Boogie Cousins are no brainers.

Westbrook? I have to give it to him he keeps getting better every year. I think I am done doubting him. But the Thunder won't trade him for nothing.

Love is for suckers who don't care about knees. Vucevic's rebounding has slowly been on the decline and he doesn't play much defense and would cut into our capspace next offseason. I'd rather see Zizic/Mickey get minutes.

Noel is immature but a good fit on a low risk contract. For the right price I would love to snag Noel + the rights to Furkan Korkmaz who may be stashed for the year due to buyout technicalities.

Middleton makes sense in the right deal but I am not a big fan. He is not the same caliber of player as Butler.

Don't want any part of Cousins and I think the Bulls would ask for the moon for Butler, a lot more than he is worth. Agree on no thanks to Love. Vucevic and Monroe could be gettable and their contracts are pretty good, plus they are both still youngish.

If I am Ainge I would seriously consider making a play for Noel or Okafor again if it could be done without a Nets pick. If Rozier's growth is legit, and as much as it would pain me, I would see if a deal based around Smart could make something happen.

Short of Anthony Davis, there are no players who could make the Celtics legitimate chances to beat Cleveland or Golden State so there is no need to blow your wad on a high risk/win now move this off season. Better to continue the slow and steady build with the young players and cap space and hope for a move to become available that is worth doing without mortgaging your future.

Seeing Westbrook, Wade and Cousins mugs sticking out of Celtics jerseys at the same time I think would permanently give me that nauseous feeling you get when you receive a minor strike to the testicles.

Nope.
Good assessment:

I think the C's are gonna get Jimmy Butler, with Philly getting Smart, and maybe a pick, and Chicago grabbing Okafor and some other assets, maybe dumping Dunleavy to a 4th team

Return to Boston Celtics
